Snoop Dogg & Eli Roth Announce New Horror Movie

Snoop Dogg is officially stepping in front of the camera for Eli Roth’s next horror film. Originally announced last September with Snoop attached only as a producer, the project has now expanded to include the legendary rapper as its star, a move Roth has personally confirmed.

The film, titled Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!, is set to begin production in June, according to Variety. The project marks another collaboration between Roth and Snoop Dogg, who previously worked together on the 2012 music video for “La La La.”

Snoop Dogg is no stranger to the horror genre, having appeared in films such as Bones (2001), Hood of Horror (2006), Scary Movie 5 (2013), and Netflix’s Day Shift (2022). Roth revealed that he completed the screenplay over the holidays, describing the film as the “ultimate haunted house movie.”

“He’s been wanting to do Death Row Films for a long time,” Roth explained. “I told him we should make the craziest haunted house movie possible—something that mixes House, House by the Cemetery, Hausu, and Friday the 13th. Something so insane people can’t believe it exists. And we call it Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!—and he’s going to star in it.”

Roth added that the concept is built around a familiar horror-movie frustration: characters ignoring obvious warnings. “It’s basically everything we scream at the screen during horror movies,” he said. “People keep going into the house, and you’re yelling, ‘What are you doing? Don’t go in there!’ Those voices become characters in the movie, almost like a Greek chorus.”

The filmmaker also confirmed that the team is currently finalizing the budget and scouting locations. The film will be produced by Roth and Snoop Dogg, with Roth fully financing the project himself.

“We’re budgeting now,” Roth said. “I’m applying for the California tax credit, and if we get it, I’d love to shoot in Los Angeles and keep it an L.A.-based production.”
