Netflix has unveiled first-look image from the set of “The Fifth Wheel,” an upcoming comedy directed by Eva Longoria and led by a female-driven cast featuring Kim Kardashian and Nikki Glaser.
The film, penned by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, centers on a group of high school best friends who attempt to reconnect during a weekend trip to Las Vegas. However, their plans take a turn when a charismatic outsider—the titular fifth wheel, played by Kardashian—crashes their getaway. As a result, the friends are compelled to confront their chaotic lives, poor choices, and fractured friendships.
This marks Longoria’s second time directing a feature film and her first for Netflix. She previously directed the Hulu and Disney+ film “Flamin’ Hot” in 2023, which tells the story of the creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Alongside Kardashian and Glaser, the cast includes Fortune Feimster, Brenda Song, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, and Scott MacArthur.

For Kardashian, “The Fifth Wheel” represents her first leading role in a feature film and her first collaboration with Netflix. The actress and reality star has previously appeared in projects such as Hulu’s legal drama “All’s Fair” as Allura Grant, and she played a prominent publicist, Siobhan Corbyn, in Season 12 of “American Horror Story” alongside Emma Roberts. Additionally, in June 2025, Variety reported that Kardashian would take on a villain role in an Amazon MGM “Bratz” movie.
The comedy joins Netflix’s recent lineup of Los Angeles-shot productions, including Ben Affleck’s “Animals,” Season 2 of Lee Sung Jin’s “Beef,” Season 4 of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s “Monster,” Season 2 of Mindy Kaling’s “Running Point,” as well as “Star Search” and “Nobody Wants This” Season 2.
Produced by Pell, Kardashian, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez, along with Cris Abrego and Eva Longoria’s Hyphenate Media Group, the film’s release date has not yet been announced.
