Lionsgate has unveiled the official teaser trailer and posters for Beast, an upcoming sports action drama featuring Academy Award winner Russell Crowe (known for Gladiator). The film is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026.
The official synopsis describes the story: “After years away from the cage, a once-feared MMA champion is pulled back into the fight of his life when his younger brother is endangered. Reuniting with the trainer who once made him a legend, he prepares for one last showdown against the reigning champion — a brutal fighter determined to destroy the ex-champ’s legacy in front of the world. Pushed to his limits, the contender’s stakes are clear: win, or lose everything he’s built.”
The teaser introduces Crowe as an MMA trainer who teams up again with his former student, aiming to help him reclaim his championship. It offers a glimpse of intense training scenes and adrenaline-fumping matches in the ring. Notably, one fight scene was filmed in Bangkok, Thailand, during the January 2025 ONE Championship’s Friday Fights live event, as reported by People.
Directed by Tyler Atkins (Ocean Boy), Beast features a screenplay by David Frigerio (Land of Bad, Muzzle). The cast includes Daniel MacPherson (Land of Bad), Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Bren Foster (The Last Ship), Amy Shark (Love, Simon), Mojean Aria (The Enforcer), and Kelly Gale (Plane). The film is produced by John Schwarz, Frigerio, Michael Schwarz, and Tim O’Hair.
