Trailer: Watch Buzz Lightyear & Woody’s Return In ‘Toy Story 5’

A new trailer for Toy Story 5 has been unveiled.

Set to hit theaters this summer, Toy Story 5 is a film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation. Directed by Andrew Stanton, the fifth installment in the beloved franchise features the return of Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. The latest trailer showcases Woody and Buzz teaming up once again for a fresh adventure, this time involving a frog-like tablet named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. The film also brings back familiar characters such as Joan Cusack as Jessie and Tony Hale as Forky. The official synopsis states: “The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang face new challenges as they encounter what kids are obsessed with today—electronics!”

Kenna Harris co-directs the movie, with Lindsey Collins serving as producer. New characters include Smarty Pants, voiced by Conan O’Brien, and Combat Carl, voiced by Ernie Hudson. Notably, Hudson replaces Carl Weathers, who voiced Combat Carl in Toy Story 4 but passed away in 2024.

Toy Story 5 is scheduled for release in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2025. Meanwhile, the first four films are currently available for streaming on Disney+.

Although there are rumors about additional Toy Story movies in the future, neither Disney nor Pixar has made any official announcements. However, Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter recently mentioned that the studio plans to release one original film followed by one sequel in the coming years, leaving the door open for more Toy Story adventures.
