While Cara Delevingne’s highly anticipated film Club Kid garners attention at Cannes as the festival’s UCR title, the actress is also making waves in the market with a horror project called The Punishing.
As previously announced, Delevingne stars alongside Star Wars veteran John Boyega in this supernatural thriller. Today, we’re excited to share the first look images and additional details.
The film is a collaboration between Spooky Pictures, Redwire Pictures, and Tiki Tane Pictures, with Chris Sparling (known for Buried) serving as both writer and director.
Currently in post-production, The Punishing is rooted in Scandinavian folklore. The story unfolds on a remote Icelandic island, where a man miraculously survives a terminal illness—only for his wife to realize that the island’s healing powers come with a terrifying cost.
Ignite is handling international sales and will be launching negotiations at the Cannes market, alongside UTA Independent Film Group and WME Independent, who are representing domestic rights.
