Genre-shifting songwriter and performer Kaiyah Mercedes returns with ‘Miss Me’, a darker, emotionally layered new single that deepens the story they have been building across recent releases. Landing 4 June 2026 via GYRO, ‘Miss Me’ sits in the tension between self-respect and grief, the moment you know you made the right choice, but your body still has to catch up. Following the momentum of their recent single ‘3 Month Blackout’, which saw Kaiyah spotlighted by Rolling Stone Australia and earn a play on triple j, ‘Miss Me’ pushes further into emotional complexity, sharpening both the writing and the bite.

London-based pianist, producer, and vocalist patch_t41b shares his new single ‘Surely They Won’t’, a piece that emerged almost entirely in the moment and pushes Laurie Erskine’s sound further into his conceptual, abstract world.

Two of rock’s most road-tested forces join up as Canada’s Art of Dyingteam with Las Vegas hard-rock veterans Adelitas Way on their explosive new single, “Step Up.” Boasting a ferocious performance from start to finish, “Step Up”  is stacked with soaring vocals, shredding riffs, and an explosive chorus that will give fans the emotional anthem needed to make the modern era of rock music complete.

“Step Up” is about the point when inertia becomes motion, set in the meeting  place of frustration, enlightenment, and determination. It moves forward with a sense of purpose that could only come from a group that knows what it takes to rebuild itself from scratch.

Irish artist and songwriter McGrath (Mick Russell) returns with his new single Burn Daylight, released June 18th via Some Action Records. Following the striking introduction of debut single Rotha, McGrath continues to establish himself as one of Ireland’s most distinctive emerging voices, pairing vivid storytelling with sharp wit, emotional honesty, and a singular vocal presence.

Originally from Donegal and now based in Belfast, McGrath was first discovered performing in a local pub, where his commanding voice and sharply observed songwriting quickly turned heads. Singing songs about drinking stout with his father, the arrival of the horsemen of the apocalypse, and the endless turns of Rotha Mór an tSaoil (‘The Great Wheel of Life’), McGrath balances humour, melancholy, and poetic insight in equal measure.

On Burn Daylight, McGrath shifts inward, exploring the loneliness and longing that comes with separation from someone you love. Built around a dreamlike, trance-indebted atmosphere, the track captures the strange emotional limbo of distance—when time slows, absence lingers, and every passing hour feels suspended.

Speaking about the track, McGrath says:

“This is for anyone who has had to endure being away from their significant other. Whether that be for professional reasons or otherwise. Loneliness creeps in and sometimes you just want the sun to burn away the day so you’re that bit closer to returning to the one you love. I wanted a dream/trance-like sound to convey the out-of-body feeling that this can evoke.”

There are certain truths in life that are simple enough to fit into a few words, but powerful enough to shape entire careers. “No Pressure, No Diamond” is one of those truths. Four words that carry the weight of struggle, perseverence, sacrifice, pain, discipline, and ultimately reward.

We live in a world that loves outcomes, but often ignores process. We admire the trophy, but forget the training. We celebrate success, but overlook the sleepless nights. We applaud the finished masterpieces while paying little attention to the countless imperfect drafts that came before it.

Everybody wants the shine of the diamond, but not everybody wants the uncomfortable pressure and time it takes to create this most precious gemstone.

Think about that while you listen this album for the first time. The color isn’t perfect. The cut is not close to symmetrical. The clarity might be a little cloudy. But, the process is tried and true.

No Pressure, No Diamond.

French musician and artist Félicia Atkinson shares “Sans Visage IV,” a final preview ahead of her forthcoming album SANS VISAGE, out June 26 via Viernulvier Records and Shelter Press. Imagined as an alternative score for the final sequence of Georges Franju’s cult 1960 horror classic Les Yeux sans visage (Eyes Without a Face), the penultimate album track is a sparse and haunting meditation on Christiane Génessier, the film’s tragic heroine. “This is Christiane’s theme,” Atkinson explains. “The music accompanies her final gesture of liberation: opening the cages, releasing the captive creatures, and vanishing into the darkness.”

Suspended between tenderness and unease, piano and subtle electronics drift through the composition with a quiet, cinematic gravity. Inspired in part by the meditative minimalism of Alain Kremski and luminous restraint of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Atkinson’s interpretation transforms a moment of escape into a liminal realm where liberation and solitude become inseparable.

Atkinson first saw Les Yeux sans visage when she was a teenager, around the turn of the century. The film made an impact for its iconic imagery and the way Franju draws on the aesthetics of early filmmaking. A quarter-century later, Atkinson was approached by the Belgian cultural center VIERNULVIER to create a new score for Les Yeux sans visage for its celebrated Videodroom series. This recorded version distills the full 90-minute composition into a 34-minute LP, accompanied by an essay from writer-musician Claire Cronin and drawings by Momo Gordon.

Following on the heels of the vulnerable single, “Sorry,” Scarlett Macfarlane returns with “Fireflys,” a warm and nostalgic pop single that captures the fleeting magic of youth, memory, and the quiet moments that stay with us long after they’ve passed. Rooted in feelings of ease, joy, and reflection, the track leans into a softer, more sentimental side of Scarlett’s songwriting, offering a moment of lightness grounded in emotional depth.

The song was sparked by a simple, intimate setting. “I have a string of lights that I like to sit out under on my balcony that mimic the randomness of fireflies,” Scarlett explains. “I was sitting out there one night and the rest is history.” That quiet moment of inspiration expanded into something more universal; a reflection on the small, meaningful experiences that shape how we remember our lives.
