Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin returns with her brand new single ‘Move A Muscle’ out today.
15 days before leaving for Nashville to record at the prestigious Blackbird Studios, and realising she had never written a sexy, slow number, Janet Devlin came up with the concept for ‘Move A Muscle’. Her previous releases centering on subject matter including heartache, bad relationships and personal flaws, Devlin challenged herself to write a more sensual song.
She explains, “For some reason, unbeknownst to me, writing that type of song feels oddly more vulnerable than writing a heavy, heartfelt ballad. I’m totally familiar with sharing my heartache, bad relationships and personal flaws. However, sharing my more sensual side to the world is a whole new type of vulnerability.”
Janet wrote the song alongside producer and longtime collaborator Angus Parkin. When it came to production, the song’s central riff became the starting point. “I wanted that effortless groove and minimal instrumentation,” she explains. “Like if John Mayer did a country love song. Keeping it simple and allowing the song to speak for itself.”
The finished version of ‘Move A Muscle’ is something of a hybrid, with its sleepy vocals, in keeping with the lyrics, there’s a laid-back, flirtatious quality achieved in the song. Lyrically and sonically, ‘Move A Muscle’ leaves room for listeners to find their own meaning in the song. It could be about not wanting to move because you’re cosy in bed with a partner, having a baby sleeping on your chest, a puppy curled up in your lap, or lying in a tent beneath the stars with nowhere else you’d rather be. It captures those moments when staying exactly where you are, feels far more appealing than moving an inch.
The result is a warm, understated and intimate track that allows its sensuality to unfold naturally. It’s a new departure for an artist who has built so much of her career around emotional vulnerability.
Devlin’s singles have seen strong chart success, reaching #31 in the Big Top 40, #15 in the UK iTunes Charts, #4 in the iTunes Country Charts, in addition to national radio play on Capital & Heart, Absolute Country, New To 2 with Scott Mills, placements on the BBC Core playlist and over 110 regional radio playlists. Singles ‘Red Flag’ and ‘Best Life’ landed coveted month-long positions on the BBC Radio 2 B List Playlist, the latter peaking at #38 in the UK Radio Monitor Airplay Top 100. The album also saw press coverage in the likes of Daily Express, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, The Sun, OK!, Record Collector, The Irish Post, The Irish News, Wonderland, CelebMix, ATC, VIP Magazine, and Record of the Day. With the release of his long-awaited debut album Swimming In Jeans only weeks away, Australian singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Jack Gray shares a new single ‘Safe Space’ that explores the heartbreak of losing trust in the person who is meant to be your refuge.
The release arrives as excitement continues to build around Jack’s ANZ Headline Album Tour. With his Sydney show already sold out and limited tickets remaining in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane, the Swimming In Jeans Tour kicks off in Auckland, New Zealand on September 4 before heading across to Australia. Following the tour, Jack will also make an appearance at Germany’s renowned Reeperbahn Festival.
Built around stark piano and a softly stirring chorus, ‘Safe Space’ leaves nowhere for Jack’s vocals to hide as he reflects on the collapse of a relationship once defined by comfort and security. Jack shares, “Safe Space is about the person who is supposed to be your person, the place where you can be most vulnerable and completely yourself, is being ripped from beneath you. Swedish alt-pop innovator and visual artist RIVER releases her brand new single ‘City of thirst’, taken from her upcoming debut album, ‘A dying source’, on the Bushido label, a division of Pub Crawl Recordings, scheduled for release on November 13th, 2026.
‘City of thirst’ sees RIVER carve out a musical landscape of her own, blending alternative pop with cinematic textures and haunting melodies. Balancing vulnerability and power, the sonics mirror its lyrical themes through hypnotic atmospherics, immersing listeners in the intoxicating push and pull of temptation and desire. It’s a bold statement from an artist unafraid to transform deeply personal experiences into something relatable and real.
The accompanying music video visualises the track’s strong cinematic themes through a kitsch-inspired visual landscape, taking aesthetic inspiration from the 1994 film Natural Born Killers. Blending surreal, dreamlike imagery with striking, hyper-stylised scenes the video captures the song’s core exploration of surrendering to things we instinctively know will be negatively all-consuming.
On ‘City of thirst’, RIVER ultimately explores what it means to embark on a path of self-sabotage. She explains: “By defending what pulls us away from our deep intuition, we allow ourselves to lean toward someone or something we instinctively know we shouldn’t trust – yet somehow crave to surrender to,” she says. “It’s the addictive way it consumes our world, like a burning flame, erasing the dullness and troubles in life that no longer ignite us.”

‘Tere Bin’ is one of Ahadadream’s most long-awaited dubs. When he first played the track during his Boiler Room set in 2023, the reaction was immediate and visceral – both in the room and online. What was initially an unreleased track quickly became one of the most requested songs in his sets, with listeners repeatedly asking when they could finally hear it officially. Over the following three years, the demand only grew. Fans have asked for the track by name and Ahad has even privately sent it to listeners who wanted to walk down the aisle to it at their weddings. In the meanwhile, Ahad played it at festival stages and clubs around the world, with heartfelt singalongs from the crowd, from Toronto to Coachella to his own headline shows and Dialled In in London.
At the centre of ‘Tere Bin’ is the voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, one of the most influential musicians of all time and a figure who fundamentally changed the way Pakistani and South Asian music could be heard around the world. Nusrat was never interested in treating tradition as something fixed. “We update Qawwali with the times,” he once said – a philosophy that feels particularly relevant to Ahadadream’s own approach. Through collaborations with artists including Michael Brooks and his work with Real World Records, Nusrat actively opened Pakistani music up to new audiences and musical worlds, becoming a bridge between deeply rooted South Asian traditions and a global contemporary audience.
‘Tere Bin’ also sits within a longer history of South Asian artists pushing against the boundaries of what their music could be. From the Asian Underground movement of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, when a generation of British Asian artists began bringing South Asian sounds into dialogue with electronic music, there has always been a conversation around what contemporary South Asian music could sound like, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has been remixed by the likes of Talvin Singh, Asian Dub Foundation, State Of Bengal and more.

Swedish rising indie pop star GERD returns with her brand new single
‘Lonely Phone People’, an intimate ballad about craving real connection in a world full of distractions. The single arrives ahead of the release of her upcoming album, More Water Than Anything.
Featuring a stripped-back, emotionally direct sound, the single puts GERD’s powerful voice and melodramatic songwriting at the forefront, capturing the tension between wanting to retreat into silence and desperately needing someone close. On the track, Henderson wants something more intimate than being her boyfriend. Haiden shares, “I was raised by a single mom so I’ve always had a hard time hanging out with other guys. There’s always some sort of an awkwardness that I can’t get around. I thought it would be fun to just lean into that for a song.”
