Rising pop artist Siena Fantini is embracing spontaneity, young romance and the freedom of summer with her infectious new single, “cross country.” Bright, playful and impossible not to move along to, the track transforms the excitement of a carefree fling into a colourful pop anthem built for long drives, open highways and windows-down singalongs.

Available now on all major streaming platforms, “cross country” immediately establishes its carefree mood with captivating synths before bursting into a buoyant arrangement filled with lively drums, vibrant guitar and Fantini’s charming vocals.

The song captures the thrill of following an unexpected connection wherever it might lead. Fantini’s playful storytelling gives the track an effortlessly relatable quality, particularly as she sings about travelling across the country for someone who has caught her attention.

Rather than overthinking the romance, “cross country” is all about enjoying the moment — a sentiment Fantini describes as the perfect soundtrack for a summer fling.

“I genuinely believe [it’s] perfect to blast on the highway with your car windows rolled down,” Fantini says. “It’s such a summer-fling type song, and to me is the living embodiment of ‘can’t a girl have fun?’”

The recording brings together an impressive collection of musicians and collaborators. Drummer Kiel Feher, whose credits include Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor and Lauv, contributes to the track, while Grammy Award-winning guitarist Andrew Synowiec adds his talents to the vibrant production.

Recorded at the legendary EastWest Studios, “cross country” was produced by Sean Hurley, known for his work with artists including John Mayer and Lana Del Rey. Hurley also performs bass on the single.

The track additionally features piano and keyboards from Zac Rae of Death Cab for Cutie and Jeff Babko, alongside lap steel, guitar and mandolin from Adam Tressler. Grammy Award-winning mixer and engineer Darrell Thorp, whose credits include Foo Fighters, Radiohead and P!nk, handled the mix, with David Ives mastering the final recording alongside Chaz Sexton.

At just 17 years old, Los Angeles native Fantini is already establishing a distinctive voice within a new generation of singer-songwriters. Her musical journey began with a love of musical theatre before she moved into voice and piano lessons, eventually discovering a passion for songwriting.

Influenced by artists including Lizzy McAlpine, Gracie Abrams, Role Model and Jeff Buckley, Fantini draws from her own teenage experiences to create music that feels honest without losing its sense of fun. Her whimsical approach combines youthful observations with lighthearted storytelling, helping her carve out a sound that feels distinctly her own.

Following the release of her sophomore EP, laundry list, Fantini has continued to attract attention from tastemaker publications and platforms including Atwood Magazine, EARMILK, IT Girl Magazine and Live Nation’s Ones to Watch.

With “cross country,” Fantini captures that fleeting feeling of being young, falling for someone and deciding to simply see where the adventure takes you. Its infectious melodies and colourful production make it an ideal soundtrack for summer, while its playful storytelling gives the song plenty of personality.

“cross country” is available to stream worldwide now.
