Multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and Emmy Award-winning actress Dove Cameron returns today with “When in Rome” via Columbia Records. The track, which is the first single off Cameron’s forthcoming debut full-length album, arrives alongside a visually stunning music video shot throughout the streets of Capena. Listen HERE. “When in Rome” finds Cameron leaning into a surrealist, cinematic, dream-like reality, and the playful, joyful track pairs her unmistakable vocals with sleek, left-of-center pop production. The track is produced by CJ Baran, known for his work with MARINA and Carly Rae Jepsen, and the music video is directed by Hannah Devries. 

Cameron has been setting the stage for this release with postcards from Italy and glimpses from the streets of Rome, teasing the song across social media ahead of its arrival. “When In Rome” marks the beginning of an exciting stretch of new music from Cameron, with more to come. In November, she will be joining Sombr on his “You Are the Reason Tour” for 13 North American cities, which includes two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden. 

Cameron kicked off 2026 starring in Prime Video’s hit series 56 Days. The erotic, psychological thriller – based on the hit novel of the same name – quickly reached #1 globally upon its release and remained one of the streamer’s top titles for numerous weeks. “When in Rome” is her first music release of 2026, following last year’s series of singles that showcased her evolution as an artist and storyteller – “Too Much,” “French Girls,” “Romeo,” “Whatever You Like,” and “Hello My Old Lover” – which she performed for packed stadiums across the UK and Ireland when opening for Dua Lipa on her “Radical Optimism Tour.”

Sylvie, the project of Los Angeles artist Ben Schwab, is excited to announce their forthcoming album, New Season, available November 6, 2026 via Ghostly International. “Rina (feat. Alex Amen)” arrives today, both beautiful and bittersweet. Reflecting on a passing friendship from long ago, today’s single was originally written by Ben’s father, John Schwab of Mad Anthony. Friend and collaborator Alex Amen offers vocals that glide atop a cascade of soft guitars, brass, and pedal steel.

“‘Rina’ is an all-time favorite,” Ben explains. “It was tough to record because I wanted to honor the original my dad wrote while bringing something new to it. Rina reminds me of the beauty and strength found in people the world overlooks. Alex understood that and gave the song exactly the touch it needed.”

Alex Amen adds, “I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it off the Mad Anthony tapes. As a song, the writing is about as good as it gets… the chords, the melody, the lyrics. It’s just perfect all around. It’s one of those rediscovered songs that makes you wonder how many other timeless things have been written and recorded and are just collecting dust in some warehouse or closet on some forgotten tape. I’m really excited to have been able to sing on this new version of Rina and hope the song finds a new life and can reach new ears.”

New York City alternative rock band King Falcon air out their frustrations with power imbalances with fully-charged track, “Hungry Dog Run” out now with a matching music video. Out today, “Hungry Dog Run” gives a voice to the overworked and underpaid. It’s rebellious, steadfast and incisive. King Falcon frontman Michael Rubin says, “‘Hungry Dog Run’ is about what happens when frustration turns into momentum. It comes from the sense that a lot of ordinary people feel ignored, overworked, and backed into a corner while those in power remain untouched by the consequences. How long can we keep getting the worst end of the deal before something gives?”

East-Coast-spanning chamber ensemble Hour return to share “Pearls,” a second single and music video from their forthcoming fifth record Ghost Bridge out October 9 via Dear Life Records. The rousing and playful second single is representative of the intricate, neo-classical harmonic pivots and alluring baroque-pop melodicism that characterizes Hour’s singular sound. The chords modulate drastically around bandleader Cormier-O’Leary’s stark, slightly arch central melody, which is passed back and forth across the 13-piece chamber orchestra in a way that emulates cuts in a film that is telling several parallel stories: disorienting but ultimately amounting to a piece of expansive storytelling.

Arriving alongside the single is a music video by William H. Travis filmed at the first full band rehearsal for Ghost Bridge. “Anyone who has tried to schedule anything can appreciate the precarity of getting thirteen musicians plus two photographers to be in the same place at the same time,” says bandleader Cormier-O’Leary. “I’m proud to say we managed to get nearly everyone–shout out to our flute player Adelyn who was on tour in Europe with Skullcrusher when this filmed. We missed her a lot.” The footage succeeds in demonstrating the love hour’s members all share for one another. Cormier-O’Leary adds: “It’s a perfect moment in time, a pearl if you will.”

The String Cheese Incident released “Fête-Tama” which follows the release of “Lightning Sky,” which was released earlier this summer. “Fête-Tama” is an instrumental, dance-floor-ready, electronic fusion of Afro-inspired percussion, and heavy funk melodies, taking listeners on a 6-minute musical journey.   

“‘Fête-Tama’ was inspired by some of the world music I’ve been listening to recently,” explains Kyle Hollingsworth. “I knew I wanted to have a dance-oriented song in the style of some of our other electronic fiddle tunes. I wrote the melody on keys and brought it to the band, and we flushed it out together. ‘Fête’ meaning ‘party’ or ‘festival’ in French, and ‘Tama’ referencing a type of African drum. I wanted to showcase Jason‘s percussion expertise. But in the end, it became a fun dance track that gets everyone grooving.”

The String Cheese Incident will continue their Just Keep Spinning Tour this weekend for a two-night run in Vail, CO, followed by the first ever Moroccan Incident taking place September 24-26 in Marrakech. The tour will include a three-night run at Hulaween in Live Oak, FL, featuring the very special Warren Haynes Incident followed by two special Halloween shows at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. The band will then head to the Bay Area for two nights at the famed Fox Theater before wrapping up the tour with two final shows in the San Diego area. The Fall Tour promises a diverse and exciting run of shows, from special collaborations to multi-night performances, offering plenty of memorable moments along the way.

TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA is Alex G’s third collaboration with director Jane Schoenbrun, having previously scored 2022’s We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and 2024’s I Saw the TV Glow. Alex G’s full TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA Original Score is out September 11th via Waxwork Records.

This is separate release from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack previously released in August, which featured Alex G’s collaboration with Paul Buchanan (The Blue Nile) and the licensed needle drops from the film.

Alex G’s full score is the backbone for director Jane Schoenbrun’s latest and much-talked about film, with his music deftly navigating between the delicate and the prismatic.

Big Moochie Grape‘s booming bars and colorful personality has established him as a favorite of tastemakers and heavy-hitters across the Dirty South. The Paper Route Empire artist achieves a new career milestone, announcing that his next album will be Grapetoven, a collaborative album with legendary producer Zaytoven. Moochie’s full-length collaboration with Zaytoven places him in rarefied air, as he joins the likes of Future, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, and Moochie’s mentor Young Dolph as major collaborators of the Atlanta-based sound architect. 

Today, Moochie shares the first glimpse of Grapetoven, releasing “Big Deposits” ft. Bally Baby. Brimming with soulful organs, twinkling pianos, and pizzicato synth strings, Zaytoven’s beat for “Big Deposits” is a veritable trap symphony, providing a luxurious bed for the Memphis rapper to perfect his high-class flexes: “I might fly your b*tch to Aspen, come back then go buy an Aston,” rhymes Moochie. Moochie, or as he likes to call himself, “Big Muwop,” has electric chemistry with fellow Southerner Bally Baby, whose elliptical flows and high-pitched vocals contrast with Moochie’s forceful bellows. In the video, Moochie and Bally work behind the scenes at a restaurant, tolerating their boss’s orders before they take matters into their own hands.

“Big Deposits” continues an exciting year for Big Moochie Grape, most recently following singles like “Genie” and his two collaborations with Fetty P Franklin, “Do What I Wanna,” and for Fetty’s single “Bows and Bricks.” Last year, Moochie released two albums, including the horror-themed Nightmare On AB and EAT OR GET ATE 2 (DELUXE).  reference to the famous Nightmare films and his home block of Apple Blossom Drive, in East Memphis, Nightmare On AB quickly establishes the life and death stakes of day-to-day in his neighborhood, where it is hustle or fall behind, and kill or be killed. Sometimes, Moochie is the monster in the movie, while other times, he is the victim, and the roles reverse more often than you can count. Home to singles like “Humongous” and “I Earned It,” Nightmare On AB is available on all platforms via Paper Route Empire. 

Toronto-based, Hong Kong-born songwriter Tennyson King shares “Safe Travels,” the latest single from his forthcoming album 100 Cities 百城 (out November 6th), a warm and uplifting indie folk anthem inspired by years of solo travel, touring, and the meaningful connections formed along the way. Blending contemporary folk songwriting with traditional Chinese instrumentation, the track reflects on the beauty of impermanent relationships, the joy of embracing the unknown, and the quiet hope that every goodbye might one day become another hello.

Inspired by backpacking across Eastern Europe and Africa, motorcycle journeys through Vietnam, and scuba diving in Indonesia, “Safe Travels” draws from the countless friendships and romances that naturally arise while exploring the world alone. Rather than mourning their inevitable endings, the song embraces their fleeting nature, celebrating the way travel allows us to discover both others and ourselves.

“It’s inspired by the joy of solo travelling and all the relationships you make during the journey,” Tennyson explains. “They’re bittersweet as they usually come to an end and it’s always hard saying goodbye.”

Up-and-coming Nashville singer/songwriter Winston Liv (they/them) has released their debut album Joan of Snark, an auditory elixir of reflective folk, alternative attitude, and playful pop melodies, creating a dreamy, pensive sound. The album is a collection of coming-of-age songs that express yearning for autonomy, obsessive first love, and insecurity in oneself that all come together to tell the universal story of growing up.

Boston-based DIY indie rock band Gollylagging are never too cool on fun, rock jam, “Red Fish” and its video out today. Next month, the band will share their debut record Real Life, due out October 16 via Disposable America, available to pre-save now. Over ten carefully crafted tracks, the band leans into the power of community and each other to accept difficult circumstances, break patterns and grow.

Next month, the band will play live throughout Massachusetts with sets at Sour City Tapes Fest and Boston Fuzzstival. On October 15, they’ll celebrate the album with Allston Pudding at Cambridge’s Brattle Theatre featuring a special screening of Albert Brooks’ Real Life (1976). On November 19, they’ll play their record release show with Jonny Tex and Bus Crush.

East London five-piece Humane have unveiled their new single “Penny Let Go” amid their European tour with Sex Mask, and ahead of upcoming dates with Radio Free Alice. Clinical and direct, “Penny Let Go” is simple by design: a track that builds and releases as frontman Max Hanley’s punchy vocals revel in unease and uncertainty. The song’s official video sees the band continue their series of visuals filmed at an abandoned priory, harnessing a dark, frenzied energy. 

“The hook to this song came to me whilst driving to the studio, and we had written most of the song within the hour. It was quick so I wasn’t thinking about what it meant, but I enjoy the hook’s ambiguity,” Max says. “It could be about money or a girl, but in my head it’s more of a statement about ego death and a surrender, an instruction to let go when you’re not sure what it is you’re holding onto.”

Chicago-based post-hardcore noise rock band Interlay announce their third EP snow covers your insides, a collection fueled by courage, feminine rage and raw power. It’s due out on October 23. With the announcement comes the emotional, layered track, “Silo,” out now, inspired by a foggy, desolate farm at dawn.

The forthcoming project, which takes its name from Sylvia Plath poetry, sees the group embrace contradiction: melodic without sacrificing intensity, abrasive without losing intimacy, and firmly rooted in the DIY ethos that has guided the band from its start. This time, bandleader Alexandria Ortgiesen (vocals/lyrics/guitar) is accompanied by a new, fully Chicago-based band featuring Nate Dixon (bass) and Brent Favata (drums).

Ortgiesen credits mixing engineer Doug Malone for the project’s sound, arrangements and their dynamic live show. “Beyond engineering the sessions, Doug played an active role in developing the record’s sonic identity, helping the band refine guitar tones, arrangements, and dynamics while preserving the immediacy that defines Interlay’s live performances.”

Los Angeles-based indie rock musician brookelen announces her unflinching, intricate third EP, dark side of the sun due out October 23 via Soliloquy Records and available to pre-save now. Alongside the announcement, the artist shares the grungy, raw first taste with “hide,” out now with its music video, a heavy, cathartic track that shines a light on demons.

The title of the forthcoming project itself is an intentional contradiction. While the sun is the brightest and most life-sustaining force in our solar system, dark side of the sun imagines the unseen weight carried by everything that burns brightly. Rather than referencing astronomy, the title becomes a metaphor for the hidden parts of one’s self—ego, secrecy, trauma, shame, doubt, and love lost.

Across the EP, brookelen explores religious trauma, queerness, sexuality, and independence through recurring imagery of angels and demons, Genesis, mythology, omens, and Icarus. The songs embrace contradiction, asking listeners to consider what happens when faith collides with freedom, when grief becomes transformation, and when vulnerability becomes strength.

melodic punk rocker Caitlin Starr shares her latest single, “Cage”, a defiant breakout anthem about being trapped by the circumstances of life and the cages of late-stage capitalism. It’s one of the five tracks off her upcoming sophomore EP Speed Saves, out October 9 via G-Foil Records. 

Cathartic, urgent, and empowering, the new single begins with an aggressive, metallic guitar grinding against Starr’s melodic vocals. Then, pounding drums kick in, giving the song a harder rock edge with an instrumental section intentionally modeled after a panic attack. “If you want violence, try it; it gets me off,” Starr grits through her teeth in the chorus; “You’ve been lying, hiding your pain from the boss.”

“The song asks who benefits from societal expectations, beauty standards, and systems of control, questioning whether anyone wins, even those who profit from subjugation,” notes the artist. Channeling all the frustration against an oppressive system, an industry that feeds off struggles with mental health and body dysmorphia, she transforms her poetry into a song of resilience. She adds, “It’s a call to fight back and reclaim agency by owning your story and who you are. It’s perfect for the moment you decide to break out.”

New York City’s halfway up a jagged hill are excited to share their debut album, HUAJH, available everywhere now via Vinegar Hill Sound Records.  HUAJH features eight tracks that trace an arc from despair to renewal. The Brooklyn duo of Devin Gilbert (vocals, guitar, bass) and Jeb Polstein (drums) move between post-hardcore catharsis, slowcore restraint, and blackened-metal intensity. Additional vocals from Lucy Mondello (Fish Hunt) appear on four tracks; the album was recorded at Vinegar Hill Sound, engineered and mixed by Reed Black, and mastered by Matthew Agoglia.

Of today’s release, the band says, “‘HUAJH’ is a dynamic journey, weaving together reflective moments with driving riffs and wafts of metal. The album takes you from pain to recovery, death to life, while drawing on fantasy and nature. After years of nurturing, we can’t wait to release it into the wild. We think the world needs heavy music.”

The Body and Cel Genesis share “Whole Wide World,” the title track and second preview from their debut collaborative album of the same name, out November 13 via Thrill Jockey. The song wastes no time getting to the point, fusing the punishing force of power electronics with a bitter nihilism that runs throughout the record. Built on lyrics by Chip King and Pauline Poderoso about exhaustion and the limits of continuing to place hope in humanity, the track offers a direct distillation of what emerges when the two projects’ sounds and sensibilities collide.

As Chris Danko of Cel Genesis puts it: “What was once before you—an exciting, mysterious future—is now behind you. Lived; understood; disappointing. You realize you are not special. You have struggled into existence, and are now slipping silently out of it. This is everyone’s experience.” That confrontation extends to the song’s construction when Poderoso delivers the line “You want a key change?,” the song gives way not to a key change but to a crushing breakdown, a moment that plays with spectacle while deliberately addressing and challenging the listener.

Atlanta punk band New Junk City today shares “Shell Game,” a sharp look at the compromises work can demand from the people and relationships around it. The song is the second single from the band’s forthcoming fourth full-length album, Where Could I Go?, arriving November 6 via Lauren Records.
