Sacha Baron Cohen has brought back his iconic Kazakh journalist character, Borat Sagdiyev, to poke fun at the controversy surrounding his upcoming film, Ali G: Who Iz I? The movie has faced criticism ahead of its theatrical release over concerns that it perpetuates harmful racial stereotypes. However, in a newly released trailer, Cohen turns the backlash into a satirical warning delivered through his beloved character.

The official synopsis reads: “After twenty years spent ‘chillin’, tokin’ and bonin’, Ali G is shocked to discover that his long-term girlfriend, Julie, is eight months pregnant. Faced with an extra mouth to feed, he gets off his batty and heads to America to reclaim his former glory… but soon encounters adversaries who will ultimately threaten his and his child’s very existence.”

In the new trailer released by Amazon MGM Studios, Borat appears as a journalist reporting on what he calls the “dastardly” Sacha Cohen and his upcoming movie. Addressing the allegations surrounding the film, Borat declares, “There have been reportings that this film is racist. We have seen it, and sadly it is not.”

The character continues by describing the film’s premise and referring to the three characters portrayed by Cohen as “devils.” As the trailer comes to a close, Borat delivers a mock statement on behalf of Kazakhstan, claiming the country is outraged by the movie and will refuse to screen it in either of its two cinemas.

“We ask you please for the sake of decency and humanity, join in our boycott,” Borat says. “We urge you, do not watch this movie film in the cinemas on October 23rd.”

Ali G: Who Iz I? will mark Cohen’s directorial debut. Actress Morgana Robinson will take on the role of Julie, previously played by Kellie Bright in the 2002 film Ali G Indahouse. According to IMDb, Stewart Rodeheaver will also appear in the film as himself.

In addition to directing, Cohen serves as a producer, while Petr Jákl is attached as executive producer.

Ali G: Who Iz I? is scheduled to hit theaters on October 23, 2026.
