Disney is bringing some unexpected holiday chaos to one of its most beloved animated families, with the release of the official trailer for A Proud Family Wizmas, a brand-new stop-motion Christmas special arriving on Disney+ this November.
The upcoming special sees Penny Proud caught up in a festive disaster after entertainment mogul Wizard Kelly decides to put his own spin on the holiday season by introducing something called ‘Wizmas’. However, Penny isn’t particularly impressed with the idea, setting off a chain of events that threatens to derail Christmas for everyone.
The newly released trailer introduces Wizard Kelly’s alternative holiday celebration, which quickly sparks controversy when Penny challenges the legitimacy of Wizmas. Her outspoken reaction creates chaos, eventually leaving Santa Claus so frustrated that he decides to walk away from his Christmas responsibilities.
With Santa stepping aside, Penny suddenly finds herself handed the biggest festive responsibility imaginable. Although she insists she’s not Santa, a little Christmas magic transforms her into the iconic gift-giver, leaving her to take charge of delivering presents and attempting to save the holiday.
The trailer offers a hilarious preview of Penny’s unexpected transformation, with her efforts to fill Santa’s boots promising plenty of comedic mishaps and holiday misadventures.
Kyla Pratt returns to voice Penny Proud, alongside familiar franchise favourites Tommy Davidson, Paula Jai Parker and JoMarie Payton, who reprise their respective roles. The special also features an impressive guest voice cast, including Anderson .Paak, Lil Rel Howery, JB Smoove and Gabrielle Union.
Adding to the excitement, The Proud Family creator Bruce W. Smith returns to direct the special alongside co-director David H. Brooks. Ralph Farquhar serves as writer and executive producer, while Kurt Farquhar returns as songwriter and composer. The production will also feature six original songs created specifically for the holiday adventure.
Produced by Disney Television Animation in collaboration with Portland-based stop-motion animation studio HouseSpecial, A Proud Family Wizmas offers a fresh visual approach to the much-loved franchise.
The special continues the legacy of The Proud Family, which first became a fan favourite through its original animated series before returning with the Disney+ revival The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
A Proud Family Wizmas premieres November 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
