Tyler Posey has shared his newest single “Runnin’” off of his upcoming album UNRAVEL, out May 26. Utilizing the sounds of the Pacific Ocean, “Runnin’” showcases a more chilled-out, laid-back side of Tyler that has yet to be seen in his previously released music.

Fans can stream “Runnin’” now at https://ffm.to/tylerposey-runnin

On the new track, Tyler shares, “Runnin’’ is dope. We [Tyler, co-producer Matt Malpass] recorded it in Hawaii. The waves you hear in the intro are the actual waves we recorded from our Airbnb, whose backyard was the Pacific Ocean. It was the first song we wrote that was a real deviation from pop punk for this album. I’m proud to say we did that deviation justice. I hope you enjoy and feel the sand on your feet and the mist from the breaking waves on your face.”

Earlier this week, Tyler announced a release show for his upcoming album UNRAVEL, taking place on June 10 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA with special guests Phem and World’s First Cinema. Australian indie royalty The Jungle Giants team up with young gun on the block Odd Mob for a remix of their most recent single “Trippin Up.” With thumping beats and spacey instrumentals that build from a mellow groove to a hazy dance break, paired with Sam Hale’s striking vocals, the track comes fully revamped as a new entity. Odd Mob has brought his deft touch to the drum and bass banger from The Jungle Giants while retaining their classic effervescent sound – Stream.

With the original version already reaching #1 most played at Triple J radio in Australia, as well as winning the praise of NME, Indie Shuffle, Acid Stag, and many others across the globe, the remix is off to a strong start, with Odd Mob giving lucky audience members a preview ahead of release during his recent Coachella set.

On this collaboration, Odd Mob said, “It was an honor to remix my all-time favorite band. This remix is high energy with hints of the original dreaminess of the original track.”

Harlem’s R&B princess Journey Montana releases her latest single, “212,” the singer/songwriter’s first release after newly signing to Los Angeles-based independent record label 10K Projects. Accompanying the track is the official video, directed by Panoramic Films, in which Journey invites viewers into the middle of the city that raised her, giving them a glimpse into the energy that inspired the song.

Get “212” HERE and watch the video HERE at 9am PST/12pm EST.

“212” pays homage to the iconic New York area code with Journey’s hypnotic, confident croon. With drum beats you can feel in your head and your stomach, the Harlem-bred singer floats over the sultry production effortlessly as she bares her soul layer by layer. As she reflects on the near-universal fears of growing old, bad exes and her drive to succeed, she remains with her feet planted firmly on the concrete.

The accompanying video is full of familiar Harlem iconography, from shiny bamboo hoops embellished with Journey’s name to the solace of the nail salon, hair salons on park steps to the echoey apartment hallways. Like everything she does, “212” is a love letter to the city that made her, and she always knows she can find her way back.

Put simply, Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds are new-age fosterers of soul music. But this is their kind of soul, with a uniquely Canadian twist. Hailing from St Boniface, the old French quarter of Winnipeg, they have crafted their identity as bilingual artists with their upcoming 9-song album release entitled Cruel. It will be their first full length LP, infusing fun-loving songs about amour and heartbreak in a mixture of both English and French, serving as an authentic representation of the languages they speak at home.

Manitoba’s French media have been following lead singer-guitarist Jérémie Brémault since his emergence onto the music scene. With no prior performing experience or musical training, he won “St. Boniface Idol” in 2013, relying solely on his natural singing talent. Jeremie thus discovered his passion for music and started his own band by hand-picking his favorite musicians from the local scene. The funky frontman assembled a full 8-piece band and they’ve been cooking up dance floors all across Canada ever since.

The Delicious Hounds name is a play on words about their “delicious sound” of smooth melodies, juicy guitar riffs and tasty horn licks. Jérémie’s smooth yet smoky voice is accented with a brilliant brass section to deliver round after round of phenomenal hits on golden platters. Jérémie’s staple friendliness, positive vibes and charismatic nature culminate into a profound presence that leaves listeners swooning for another bite of their unique modern twist on old-school rhythm and beats.

Aisha Badru unveils a whispering ode to self-love in her stirring new single “Inside”, out May 5th via Nettwerk.

A piano-based rumination devoted to self-admiration and honouring oneself with kindness, “Inside” comes in collaboration with Badru’s longtime producer Chris Hutchinson, where together the pair make aural magic. The release is joined by the soulful visual directed by Laura-Lynn Petrick, where you’ll witness mesmerising choreography demonstrated by the familiar presence Nyda Kwasowsky (as seen in “Lazy River”).

“I remember feeling like the ultimate goal is to find someone who loves you, and then realizing that the ultimate goal is to love yourself,” Badru shares. “Until you love yourself, you won’t really know what true love is.”

Following on from the sultry resonance of “Path of Least Resistance” and gossamer folk-pop “Lazy River”, “Inside” is another instalment lifted from Badru’s forthcoming EP – Learning to Love Again out June 2nd via Nettwerk.

Everything has a purpose,” says Aisha Badru, the Nigerian American, sometimes earthy,
sometimes ethereal singer-songwriter. “I was meant to be here, doing this. And it’s just part of my purpose to experience certain levels of trauma that are very universal, go through every process of healing, and somehow put it together so I can help guide someone else.”

If you haven’t yet noticed, much of Badru’s magic lies in alchemy — distilling an often-tangled human experience into simple truths, quieting the cacophony to pave a path towards introspection. Her work is at once powerful and beautiful. It’s why Badru boasts 135 million total music streams, while winning critical praise from the likes of NPR MusicOkayplayerThe Line of Best FitAfropunkOnes to WatchNoctis MagazineGet In Her EarsNothing But Hope and Passion and more. And it’s also why brands such as Volkswagen have tapped into her catalog to enlighten their own messages.

Kingston, Ontario band Kasador have never been scared of change. And the three friends at Kasador’s core—Cameron Wyatt (vocals/guitar), Boris Baker (bass), and Stephen Adubofuor (drums)—have been through a lot of it.

They’ve woven years of tumult through their mid- and late-20s into something powerful and real: a tight-knit, sincere, and caring rock and roll band hitting full sprint, with an upcoming full-length record about youth, memory, relationships, and how the relentless passage of time shapes and constantly reshapes all of those things. It’s a bright, punkish, emotional guitar-rock record that ultimately tracks the process of learning to be okay with not being okay.

Kasador, who have shared stages with Arkells, July Talk, Sam Roberts Band, and The Glorious Sons, began a new era in 2016 from the past life of another university-era band. Adubofuor joined in 2018, and in 2019, the band released their debut full-length Brood and Bloom, a dark, pensive collection of alt-rock, pop, and R&B that scored 350,000 plays in the first six months after release. Kasador celebrated it with a sold-out, 800-cap hometown show that December.

But when the band’s former co-lead singer stepped down in 2020 just before the pandemic began, the trio was again hurled into uncertainty. The usual questions cropped up: are we done? Will we be good enough? Rather than scramble to hold onto the past, they turned inward to each other. They decided to embrace and move forward into a new era, becoming a different band in the process.

Andy Frasco & The U.N. have announced the release of their eagerly awaited new album, L’Optimist, arriving via Fun Machine Records/Soundly Music on Friday, August 11. Pre-orders are available now. Frasco’s sixth studio album and most hopeful and enthusiastic collection thus far, L’Optimist is heralded by today’s premiere of the ebullient first single, “You Do You,” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. An official music video is streaming now at YouTube.

“‘You Do You’ is basically a call to arms to myself,” Frasco says. “Like, what is success? We built success through being outlaws and being ourselves. I did it my own way and it worked out for the best, I think. Could we have been way more successful if I just conformed? Maybe, but that’s boring. It sounds like cheating in a race and I’m not trying to cheat. I want to do it my way. Hopefully I’ll look back when I’m 80 and realize that, like Frank Sinatra, I did it my way.”

Brazilian producer/DJ duo PlasticRobots release their new single ‘Tell Me Something’, out now via Dirtybird Records.

Quickly becoming regulars on Dirtybird, Plastic Robots have put a refreshing twist on bass house with their latest original ‘Tell Me Something’. An underground club cut that flirts with the wonky sensibilities of the iconic house and techno label, ‘Tell Me Something’ is a striking offering from the Brazilian beatmakers. Thick thumping basslines are the main attraction, with crisp percussion and wild arpeggiating synth crescendos adding to the eclectic palette presented by the duo. ‘Tell Me Something’ is a dancefloor stunner sure to be heard throughout the Dirtybird Players Tour, happening now throughout the US.

Regarding the track, Plastic Robots said, “We are thrilled to be back at Dirtybird Records with the release of our latest track, ‘Tell Me Something’. Working again with this legendary label was an incredible experience. ‘Tell Me Something’ is a song that represents the essence of Dirtybird, with a unique mix of exciting beats and irresistible basslines. We can’t wait to share this new music with all of our fans and hope it makes them dance as much as it made us dance during production.”

Bass producer DNMO returns to Monstercat Uncaged today with singer-songwriter and producer Wolfy Lights for the euphoric drum and bass single, “Blinding.” The track is a stunning blend of Wolfy Lights’ beaming vocals and DNMO’s powerhouse artistry that together lead to a festival heater. With lustrous toplines touching on alluring chemistry between two souls, “Blinding” also nods to the duo’s candid and effortless musical relationship. DNMO’s impressive stylings traverse the emotive breaks and high energy drums, while leaning into nostalgic bass elements reminiscent of the early 2010’s. DNMO continues to serve up soundscapes with audio-culinary experiences by coupling his recipes and music as an immersive journey. Next, he’s taking his energy to the live stage opening for Illenium at The Gorge on May 27th, where the audience can hear the new track live.

DNMO shares, “Wolfy Lights is one of my favourite people on this earth both personally and professionally. I’ve had the pleasure of writing countless songs with her over the past year and “Blinding” was a very defining moment for our collaborative relationship when our two separate sounds came together and really welded together harmoniously as one. I always seem to write/release music with not much thought behind this time of the year but this one for me is the one perfect depiction of spring, when everything starts to become brighter and filled with life.”

Wolfy Lights adds, “This song is about two people that knew each other for a very long time. They danced around with the idea of being together over the years, but one person was ready and the other was not, and vice versa. After both being forced to do their own self work they finally got to a point where their energy was so magnetic and powerful together that they were ‘Blinding’.”

DNMO has been making waves in the scene since the ripe age of 16-years-old, lauded for his musicianship and sonic range in electronic music. He’s taken his superlative producing and DJing skills to live shows across the globe, including sold-out performances at Deadbeats Toronto and Chicago, Red Rocks, and to The Gorge this month. Unearthing a passion for cooking, he’s working on creating audio-culinary experiences that showcase his flavor in the kitchen and the studio for a never done before adventure for music and food enthusiasts alike. DNMO continues to push boundaries by creating immersive opportunities to connect with his listeners.

Wolfy Lights, previously known as AKYLLA, has become a celebrated vocalist in the electronic dance music realm after breakout collaborations with heavyweights including Excision, Zeds Dead, and more. Her multifaceted talents are highlighted through her energetic stage presence,  teaching skills through Ableton master classes, and multi-instrumental abilities.

Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Rebecca Lappa unveils her glimmering new EP Tales of a Taurus on 5th May, featuring the new single ‘Your One’.

Opening the EP, Your One’ sets the stage for Rebecca’s bold new indie-pop direction with its multitude of beautifully layered harmonies and captivating chorus. Be sure to watch the epically frozen video here – a striking visual of an icy landscape set against the swathe of understated synths. Recent single ‘Blue Lips’ uses ice-cold imagery in a sprightly pop song about unrequited love – fun and rich in sound, and the much darker ‘Lolita’ takes inspiration from the 1955 novel of the same name. Here Rebecca dares to explore the forbidden relationship in the book, one of lust and desire in a sinister situation. And don’t miss the atmospheric standout ‘Forecast’.A very tender and sweet song, with expertly used weather analogies Rebecca’s vocals shine on top of soaring guitars shimmering in reverb.

For all the gorgeous layered soundscapes Rebecca creates in her new found sound, she still manages a nod to her previous folkier releases, as demonstrated on ‘Witch’s Way’, staying true to her acoustic singer-songwriter roots and her accomplished skills as a storyteller. In contrast to the rest of the EP it opens with a gently plucked guitar line, building to a rootsy stomp that feels contemporary and classic at the same time. The EP’s journey comes to an end with ‘Brick by Brick’, a modern country sounding song with subtle slide guitar and several vocal lines floating in and out.

Just like people change over time, my choice of how I express myself as an artist has changed over time,” says Rebecca on the newEP. “I am currently at a point in my life where the most raw and authentic version of myself feels best expressed through pop and alternative music. With this EP, I am continuing my journey of creative expression. My focus is making music and stories that matters to me and hopefully it will impact others.’

Produced by Louise Burns and recorded between The Audio Department in Edmonton and 604 Studios in Vancouver, Tales of a Taurus was brought to life with Burns’ multi-layered previous experience, both as a band member in Lilix and as a solo performer in her own right. Not only did she carry out production and programming, Burns also contributed bass, synthesisers, and backing vocals, with drums played by Alex Glassford and Flavio Cirillo and additional guitar played by Max Cunningham. Of the collaboration between herself and Louise, Rebecca proudly comments that ‘She captured the intricate and intimate quality of my voice and my full range of expression, which shines through on these tracks.  Louise had a lot of impact on the instrumentation because she was really tapped into the influences of the artists that I was inspired by for this EP.’

Boomnote Music is proud to announce the release of Places thedebut album by LordJAG.

Son of Jerry Goodman, violinist of the celebrated Mahavishnu Orchestra & The Flock, the project was entirely

written, composed, produced and performed (all instrumentation/vocals) by the artist himself.

Intergalactic Pop Supergroup, SG5, have teamed up with underground tastemaker and PC Music collaborator, umru, for the remix of their debut single “Firetruck.”umru, who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX, 100 gecs, Dorian Electra, Rebecca Black, Tommy Cash and more; has transformed SG5’s fiery single into a hyper J-pop nightclub banger.

“Firetruck” (umru REMIX) brings together two diverse artists while seamlessly  fusing different genres and cultures. umru, a Brooklyn-based Estonian-American music producer, quickly emerged to the forefront of the pop zeitgeist following his first credit (at 18) on Charli XCX’s landmark mixtape Pop 2. Merging intense, bass-heavy sounds with earworm vocals, his work has come to define and support the cutting edge of pop music. umru is signed to A. G. Cook’s label PC Music who released his latest 7-track project ‘comfort noise.’

Originally released on May 1st and produced by BloodPop [Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Madonna] and Hudson Mohawke [Drake, Pusha T], “Firetruck” marked the groups first release since Rolling Stone announced their U.S. debut in June of 2022. A song all about the individual flame that burns inside all of us, and a love so pure that it shines brighter than hate or bad vibes; “Firetruck” has been an introduction into the SG5 universe. By embracing the power within ourselves and hyping up our girls along the way, we become the hottest versions of ourselves. SG5 has wasted no time infiltrating the U.S. market by celebrating their debut single release in Los Angeles last month, with appearances from BloodPopA.G. Cook, and more (seen here). “Firetruck” received much praise from places such as Ones To WatchMTV,Entertainment TonightAudacy and more; with Nylon referring to it as “[…] a rowdy and bold introduction to the band’s charismatic members and their immediate superstar appeal.”

Brooklyn-based duo Gardenia have announced their debut album Knowing You Know Nothing, out May 26. Through eight brand new tracks, Gardenia is aiming to tell listeners one thing – “We’re pissed, and you should be too.” They push the idea that it’s okay to be angry at the state of things, that although every story might not have a happy ending, it doesn’t mean that you can’t try to find yours.

New York City/Los Angeles-based alt-pop group MisterWives announce their highly anticipated fourth studio album Nosebleeds due out July 14 and available for pre-order now. Plus, the band announces the Don’t Look Down Tour with Bishop Briggs across North America this fall with tickets on sale now via misterwives.com/tour. Alongside the announcements, the band shares the booming, tenacious title track out everywhere now and its accompanying video, which premiered exclusively via Rolling Stone.

Nosebleeds, highly anticipated fourth studio album by MisterWives, propels the group into all new territory, this time, equipped with bravery, confidence and strength. Through a decade-long career, of tremendous highs and lows, the forthcoming project meets the band at their most evolved as they turn their pain into power. Over ten compelling tracks, the band digs deeper than they ever have before, capturing the nuances of life’s highs and low and re-defining what it means to succeed and to fail.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, who raves this is “their best music yet,” frontwoman Mandy Lee explains, ‘Nosebleeds’ encompasses both meanings of the word–feeling high up and beat down–a response to the punches that leaned into the messy middle without fast forwarding to a silver lining. Learning along the way that the journey is both heavy and delicate, vulnerable and strong, betrayal and trust, ugly and beautiful.” On the forthcoming album, the band opens up about their struggles, and what it takes to stick together after so many years. “Being a band for ten years and still standing despite the amount of times we’ve been dropped, a bandmate quitting during the pandemic, a divorce–the perfect storm for how bands historically fall apart–felt like a pretty big triumph and moment to allow ourselves to create our fourth record with no limitations and without feeling boxed into what others might expect from us.”

Unafraid to fall apart, the album observes the band piece themselves back together, better than ever before. With a new MisterWives era on the horizon, Lee adds, ‘Nosebleeds’ was a homecoming to truth and freedom of self-expression and in doing so, we find ourselves in new territory both sonically and lyrically that unlocked our most raw and empowering music yet.”

Multi-award winning band Morganway will release their dramatically melodic forthcoming album Back To Zero on 5th May 2023.

Following a string of singles and a UK headline tour announcement, Americana rock band Morganway are set to release their new record, Back To Zero – an album captured over a wild period in the band’s recent history. Writing and recording took place during 2020s lockdowns and then later fitted around a relentless touring schedule; from forced resets and sudden restarts, its title track served as an appropriate name for the latest body of work from this resilient band.

Pretty early on in the process we knew Back To Zero was the title. It’s what a lot of us have felt in recent times and it’s something we were going through together while making the record. Resets can be good. They force us to change, and change leads to growth, and bands need that, too. It was a very creative time for us and for me, Back to Zero celebrates that above all else.” – Callum Morgan, co-founder of Morganway

Ferocious album opener ‘Wait For Me’ perfectly showcases Morganway’s unique approach to music, gradually building from an Americana intro up to full-blown rock with the help of SJ Mortimer’s bellowing vocals and Nicole J Terry’s expert fiddle stylings. But that’s just the beginning, with the bluesy ‘Come Over’ amping up the volume further in an ode to an independent woman. As well as once again proving powerful vocals, SJ Mortimer wrote this number, explaining that the song “explores a strong independent woman, feeling powerful in her own skin, but with a knot in her heart from life’s pressures and tribulations.

One aspect of Morganway that the band pride themselves on is that while various genres can be picked out from their music, they themselves do not categorise their output into any particular one. “All of us have very different influences and we don’t focus on genre,” says Mortimer. “Even when we don’t all agree something great still comes out, so we hit record and go with it.” With recent single ‘World Stopped Running’ for example, the gorgeously strummed guitars, singalong hook and chorus make for a rousing and hopeful indie-folk tune. Unafraid to tap into life’s deeper emotions on ‘Sweetest Goodbye’, the group tenderly touch on themes of loss and saying farewell with a simple piano and violin accompaniment, stylistically influenced by Joni Mitchell’s Blue chosen by the song’s co-writer Matt Brocklehurst.

At the other end of the spectrum, the band play in a blaze of fury at great volume on ‘Burn Every Page’. Written in between lockdowns by Mortimer, Callum Morgan and lead guitarist Kieran Morgan, they tap into the collective confusion of the time and channel it into a will to set fire to what came before. With her vocal prowess on full display here, Mortimer is also the band’s rhythm guitarist and explains that “it was written at a time when none of us knew what the f*** was going on! I had this riff and knew I wanted it to be a rocky one.

Glorious layered harmonies can be heard throughout the album – for example, ‘We Were Going Nowhere’ and ‘The Man’ allow for some fun with both the main and backing vocals, complimenting the rich musicianship of Morganway. The latter, especially, shines with an incredibly uplifting and enthralling classic rock vibe. However, the fun turns introspective for album highlight and title track ‘Back To Zero’, where Mortimer’s voice soars and every band member plays with their hearts on their sleeves for this moving hands-in-the-air number.

Although it was written before 2020, as we were developing this album in-between lockdowns and then completing it when the live scene was finally starting to return, the idea of “heading back” meant more to us than ever. As a band we were unable to perform together, we were unable to be together, so effectively the path it felt like we were on upon releasing our debut album had suddenly hit reset. Yet there’s also a very uplifting idea to starting over. Back to basics. It’s like meditation in a way, resetting the mind.’ – Callum Morgan

Grammy Nominated Artist/Producer/Writer SMITH is thrilled to release “Crazy Mary” a cover of the Victoria Williams cult classic that was made famous by Pearl Jam that is out now and featured on Wonderland Magazine.

When asked why she covered “Crazy Mary” SMITH says, “I covered “Crazy Mary” because I love it.  It’s a brilliant song that does something to me every time I hear or sing it.  Victoria Williams wrote a beautiful song and I’m grateful to her for this.  Pearl Jam covered it years ago so I know there’s no need for improvement in my little version.  I just wanted to record it because it’s a great song.  It gets to me and almost always makes me cry.  Cry with varied tears.  Something about it felt familiar.

With over 75 million streams worldwide,  SMITH is coming off a career year that saw her nominated for a Grammy as a writer/producer on the Jack Harlow album as well as becoming the only female artist to EVER have a Billboard Top 40 charting song at Alternative Radio (SCAB) and Urban Radio (Poppin’ Them Tags).

Turkish-Italian multi-instrumentalist and rising music icon Carlita joins forces with German DJ and production duo Andhim to release their debut collaborative track ‘Life.’ The euphoric single will be followed by the release of their full EP, Life, via DJ Tennis’s Life And Death imprint on May 12th.

A skillfully crafted emotive soundscape, ‘Life’ blends Carlita’s eclectic versatility and kaleidoscopic sonic vision together with Andhim’s signature ‘super house’ sound. Pairing driving percussion with atmospheric melodies, listeners are taken on an uplifting sonic journey. As Carlita describes, ‘Life’  has an “ethereal vibe to it for those early morning sunrise moments.”

In Carlita’s own words on the project, “I’ve always been a huge fan of Andhim ever since I started getting into electronic music when I was much younger. They’ve always inspired me and I have always admired the music that they produce. When I started djing i always played their music in my sets and always wanted to work with them one day. When we decided to finally get in the studio together it was so natural and we really fed off each other’s vibe and managed to create these 2 amazing tracks which I am so happy with. Each of us has our parts which we have weaved into these tracks and I feel they are really unique and I can’t wait for the release.”

Honey Gentry (ˈhʌni ˈʤɛntri) is an independent artist from London, UK. Creating baroque pop for introverts, Honey’s work explores themes including escapism, dreams, and mythology. Entirely self-produced and recorded from the comfort of her bedroom, the artist manages to capture a free, honest and totally personal experience with her DIY, homemade music.

Finding influence in the likes of artists such as Mazzy Star, Tori Amos and Lana Del Rey, Honey is inspired by musicians who would turn deeply personal and private experiences of teenage girlhood and young womanhood, into something intensely human and real.

Her latest single “Under Taurus” began as an ode to the poem of the same name by Louise Glück, which Honey first came across just before the poet won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The songwriter shares, “It reminded me of when I was a child in the countryside with my dad and he would wake me up on a clear night and we’d go outside and spot shooting stars. We’re always talking about space. But then as you get older, you lose your childlike ability to say things how you see them; because it makes another person happier if you see what they see. So the song was born out of that feeling of moulding yourself into another person’s desires in order to make them happy.”

Sonically, the single shimmers with dreamy, echoing synths, layered vocals and a delicate piano line, delivering an overall celestial quality.

“Under Taurus” is off of Honey’s upcoming EP, where listeners will find Space as a common theme throughout. She confides, “I think because that’s my preferred method of looking outward rather than inward; forwards instead of backwards.”
Honey Gentry’s music has garnered millions of streams to date and has been supported by outlets including NME, BBC Radio Ulster, Dork, Fred Perry Subculture and more.

BC indie folk musician Jeff Andrew returns with his eclectic and ominous new single ‘The Last Wild Werewolf’ out now on all digital streaming platforms. Listen here

Jeff is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and fiddler with an eye for the unusual. His songs are like a cracked-mirror reflection of the world we know – a parallel reality told through ghost stories, underground travel tales and weird historical fiction.

On his new album Blood Moon, set for release on June 9th, he explores this dream-like landscape through an electrified patchwork of folk, rock and post-punk, with echoes of old-time Americana and 80s horror movie soundtracks. The first single ’The Last Wild Werewolf’ leans heavily into the folk noir theme, with Jeff playing a Stroh Violin (aka a horn violin) to help set the spooky tone.

“This song is about an alternate world, where werewolves used to be common, but have now been hunted nearly to extinction,” says Jeff. “The narrator is one of the last ones, and they’re kept locked up and studied as a zoological abomination. One full moon night they hear a wild werewolf howling out on the plains (there aren’t supposed to be any left), and decide it’s time to break free and go find her. It’s kind of a love story, and kind of a fantasy about breaking the chains of a world that doesn’t understand you. It’s also about our relationship to nature, and how disconnected we are from our place in it. What if the animals we hunted were also human?”
