A new trailer has been released online for The Chronology of Water, a biographical drama that marks Kristen Stewart’s feature directorial debut.
Adapted from Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir of the same name, the film follows Yuknavitch’s (portrayed by Imogen Poots) journey as she seeks to find her place in the world. After escaping an abusive home environment and losing her swimming scholarship due to addiction, she ultimately discovers solace and purpose through literature at the University of Oregon.
The film features an ensemble cast including Imogen Poots, Thora Birch, Jim Belushi, Charles Carrick, Tom Sturridge, Susanna Flood, Esme Creed Miles, Kim Gordon, and Michael Epp.
Set for release in 2025, The Chronology of Water’s synopsis reads: “Raised in a turbulent environment marred by violence and alcohol, Lidia Yuknavitch seemed destined for self-destruction and failure—until she found unexpected freedom through the power of words and literature.”
