MGM+ has released the official trailer for Vanished, a four-part thriller miniseries starring Kaley Cuoco. The series begins as a romantic getaway in Europe but quickly spirals into a terrifying disappearance nightmare. Watch the trailer above and read on for more details.
Vanished follows Alice (Cuoco) as she meets her boyfriend, Tom (Sam Claflin), in Paris. Their relationship appears to be built on stolen moments and hotel keys. Early in the series, Alice tells Tom, “I love that we meet up in hotels all over the world, but I want to build a life,” hinting at her desire for something more serious. Tom responds with “I love you,” but the show’s title hints at the trouble ahead.
The story takes a turn when Alice falls asleep on a train headed to the south of France. When she wakes up, Tom is gone. She tries calling him, but only hears muffled sounds before the call abruptly ends.
Vanished was co-created by David Hilton (known for My Little Eye) and Preston Thompson (who also writes for the series). Barnaby Thompson directs all four episodes; his previous work includes St. Trinian’s and Pixie. He also serves as an executive producer alongside Cuoco, James Clayton, David Kosse, Preston Thompson, and producers Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, and Miguel A. Palos Jr.
In the United States, Vanished premieres on MGM+ on Sunday, February 1, with new episodes released weekly. The entire series will be available on February 27 on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and Canada.
Soon after her disappearance, Alice pleads with a detective (Simon Abkarian). He responds with a cold checklist: “there are three major reasons that people disappear: work, money, and relationships.” Alice insists Tom would “never do that,” but it quickly becomes clear she might not truly know who she’s been traveling with.
The trailer showcases a tense mix of paranoia, chases, and shocking revelations as Alice finds herself embroiled in an increasingly dangerous situation abroad.
