Steven Yeun is set to star in and executive produce Pagans, a new horror series in development at Netflix from writer Joshua Zetumer, best known for the 2014 RoboCop reboot.

The series follows Gus, a single father struggling to raise his two children after the death of his wife. While his son is relatively ordinary, his daughter, Alice, presents a far more troubling challenge. As Gus attempts to navigate his increasingly strained relationship with Alice, their family dynamic takes a dark and sinister turn.

According to the official logline, Pagans will blend emotional drama, horror, and humor while exploring the darker thoughts and fears surrounding family relationships.

Yeun will executive produce through Celadon Pictures alongside Christina Oh. Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg will also executive produce for Goddard Textiles, alongside Jonathan van Tulleken, Erica Kay, and Zetumer.

Zetumer will serve as the show’s showrunner and head writer. His previous credits include the 2014 RoboCop reboot, Patriots Day, and FX’s acclaimed limited series Say Nothing, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Yeun is no stranger to Netflix or acclaimed television projects. He previously starred in and executive produced the streaming giant’s hit limited series Beef, opposite Ali Wong. His performance earned him several major awards, including an Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, and SAG Award.

With Yeun leading the cast and Zetumer overseeing the series, Pagans is shaping up to be a dark and unconventional addition to Netflix’s horror lineup.
