The upcoming movie marks another collaboration between Diaz and producer Beau Bauman, who previously worked together on Netflix’s Back in Action. Released in January 2025, the action comedy received mixed reviews from critics but became a major hit with Netflix viewers, reaching No. 6 on the platform’s most popular list and spending seven consecutive weeks in the Global Top 10 movies rankings.

Diaz will lead an ensemble cast that includes Danielle Brooks, Rhenzy Feliz, John Higgins, Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Ed O’Neill, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson, and Beck Bennett.

Who Is Behind ‘Bad Day’?

Bad Day is produced by Beau Bauman’s Good One Productions, with Mark Moran serving as executive producer. Laura Solon wrote the screenplay and is also an executive producer alongside Moran, while Jeremy Mittleman serves as co-producer.

The film also marks the third collaboration between Solon and Bauman. The pair previously worked together on Let It Snow and Office Christmas Party.

With Szymanski at the helm and Diaz leading an ensemble cast, Bad Day looks set to deliver a different take on the traditional family comedy. Audiences can watch the film exclusively on Netflix when it premieres on December 11, 2026.
