‘Move Inside’ is an intensely personal track, written as a diary entry that confronts Molly’s own experience of sexual assault by someone she once considered a friend. After years of processing the trauma, she finally found the words to articulate her pain. The song reflects her journey through trauma, capturing feelings of vulnerability, anger, and empowerment.
The track has already resonated deeply with listeners online and has left audiences in silent awe during live performances. Sharing snippets on social media sparked an outpouring of support from around the world, as many connected with its raw honesty.
Molly shares, “When I was 17, I was sexually assaulted by a close friend. At the time, I was overwhelmed with fear, guilt, and confusion, and I couldn’t process what I felt. For years, I struggled to write about it. But five years later, I pieced together my writings and finally managed to express it through this song.”
She continues, “‘Move Inside’ is about how trauma can linger, making you feel like you’re right back there. I wanted to build up to a point of reckoning at the end—where I no longer see myself as a victim, but as someone angry and powerful. I hope it can help others feel that too.”
With ‘Move Inside’, Molly Burman bravely shares her story and invites others to find strength in their own healing journeys. Her honesty and vulnerability continue to define her artistry, making her one of London’s most compelling voices today.
