Disney+ and Hulu have unveiled the official trailer for The Land, an upcoming sports drama from This Is Us and Paradise creator Dan Fogelman. Starring Christopher Meloni, Mandy Moore and William H. Macy, the series takes viewers inside the high-pressure world of professional American football, where family loyalty, power struggles and the demand for success collide.
Set around the Cleveland Browns NFL franchise, The Land follows head coach Danny Roarke (Meloni), who finds himself facing a career-defining challenge after several disappointing seasons. With his position hanging in the balance, Danny has one final opportunity to turn the team’s fortunes around. However, his future becomes even more complicated when the team’s hopes rest on a newly drafted Ohio State quarterback who happens to be his son, Connor (Sam Corlett).
The trailer teases a complicated relationship between father and son, with Danny struggling to reconcile his responsibilities as a coach with his feelings as a parent. As expectations rise and pressure mounts, the question becomes whether Connor has what it takes to lead the team to victory — and whether Danny can put family tensions aside to give him a genuine chance.
Meanwhile, William H. Macy plays Hal Durkin, the franchise’s owner, who faces a major decision about the team’s future. With two daughters, played by Moore and Chloe Bennet, competing for a place in the family business, Hal must determine who is best suited to take control of the franchise. The decision threatens to turn an already demanding professional environment into a battleground for family ambition and succession.
Blending the intensity of the NFL with the emotional complications of a family drama, The Land promises to explore the personal sacrifices and rivalries that exist beyond the football field. With the team’s passionate fanbase demanding results, both families have plenty to lose if the franchise fails to deliver.
The ensemble cast also includes Chace Crawford, Tanner Zagarino, Bridget Moynahan and Omar Epps. Fogelman created the series and serves as its writer, executive producer and showrunner, bringing his experience with character-driven television to a story where professional ambitions and complicated family relationships intersect.
Produced by 20th Television and Skydance Sports, The Land will premiere on February 15, 2027, with two episodes on Disney+ internationally and Hulu in the United States. New episodes will be released weekly.
With a star-studded cast and a story that places family conflict at the heart of professional football, The Land looks set to deliver a drama in which the biggest battles may happen far away from the playing field.
