Jason Statham is back for another brutal mission in the first trailer for The Beekeeper 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2024 action thriller. Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first look at the upcoming film, which sees the former government assassin return to deliver his own brand of justice when a dangerous new threat emerges.
Directed by Timo Tjahjanto (Nobody 2), the sequel promises another dose of high-octane action, intense fight sequences and the relentless vengeance that made the original a box office success.
What Is
The Beekeeper 2
About?
The newly released trailer reveals that the secretive Beekeeper organisation has gone rogue, setting its sights on gaining complete control of the United States government. With the organisation threatening to become an even greater danger, Adam Clay (Statham) is called upon to stop the people who once trained him.
The footage opens with Clay contemplating a fire as a bee lands on his hand, before Jeremy Irons’ Wallace Westwyld explains the growing threat. As the situation escalates, Clay finds himself facing a new wave of enemies, with the trailer showcasing explosive confrontations, brutal combat and a suitably outrageous flamethrower encounter.
One of the standout moments sees Clay take to the road in a 1969 Dodge Super Bee equipped with a weaponised stinger, adding another memorable element to the sequel’s action-heavy approach. The trailer concludes with Clay delivering a cheeky final remark after a particularly fiery confrontation, reinforcing the franchise’s mix of hard-hitting violence and dark humour.

Statham reprises his role as Adam Clay, joined by several familiar faces from the first film, including Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Jemma Redgrave.
The sequel also introduces new cast members Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland, expanding the franchise’s ensemble as Clay confronts the organisation’s latest threat.
Tjahjanto takes over directing duties from David Ayer, who helmed the original film. The screenplay is written by Umair Aleem, with Statham also serving as a producer alongside Chris Long and Kurt Wimmer.
Released in January 2024, The Beekeeper followed Clay as he embarked on a revenge mission after a phishing scam devastated the life of his landlady. The film went on to earn more than $162 million worldwide, establishing the property as a successful action franchise.
With its larger conspiracy, returning characters and escalating action, the sequel looks set to continue Clay’s uncompromising approach to justice.
The Beekeeper 2 is scheduled to arrive in Australian cinemas on January 14, 2027, with its US theatrical release following on January 15, 2027.
