Romeo Beckham is stepping into the world of cinema, with the first official trailer for Forty Love offering a glimpse at his feature-film acting debut. The upcoming French romantic drama combines competitive tennis, intense rivalries and unexpected romance in a story that sees the son of David and Victoria Beckham take on a leading role.
Directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti in his feature directorial debut, Forty Love follows Sacha Gallo (Paul Kircher), an ambitious young tennis star determined to secure a major victory in France. Having trained under the watchful eye of his father, Sacha is focused on proving himself on the court. However, his ambitions are thrown into disarray when he encounters a charismatic new rival, played by Beckham.
The newly released trailer teases a relationship that quickly develops beyond sporting competition. What begins as a tense rivalry gradually evolves into a passionate connection, forcing the two players to navigate their growing feelings alongside the pressures of professional tennis.
Beckham’s character brings a provocative energy to their relationship, challenging Sacha both on and off the court. As attraction and antagonism become increasingly difficult to separate, the pair find themselves caught between their competitive instincts and their undeniable chemistry. The footage promises a romance filled with emotional tension, intimate encounters and complicated feelings.
Beyond its central love story, Forty Love explores the expectations surrounding elite sport and the personal sacrifices that can accompany ambition. Sacha’s pursuit of success becomes increasingly complicated as he confronts feelings that threaten to change his understanding of himself and his future.
Beckham, who has previously worked as a model for major fashion labels, takes a significant step into a new creative field with the project. His casting places him alongside an accomplished French ensemble that includes Kircher, Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin and legendary actress Catherine Deneuve.
Carlotti also co-wrote the screenplay with Gaëlle Macé, while the film’s music comes from 070 Shake and Johan Lenox. The creative team brings together the worlds of fashion, music and cinema for a romantic drama centred on identity, desire and the intensity of high-level competition.
Forty Love is scheduled to arrive in French cinemas on November 25, 2026, through StudioCanal. An international release date has yet to be announced.
With its blend of sporting rivalry and queer romance, Forty Love offers Romeo Beckham an opportunity to establish himself beyond fashion and his famous family name. The first trailer sets the stage for a story in which the most challenging opponent may not be the person standing across the tennis court, but the feelings neither player can easily control.
