Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming Pride and Prejudice series, offering a fresh look at Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy in a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved literary classic.

Set against the elegance and social conventions of 19th-century England, the six-part drama revisits one of literature’s most enduring romances, exploring the complications of love, family expectations and the dangers of judging someone too quickly.

Based on Austen’s 1813 novel, the story follows the five Bennet sisters as they navigate a society in which marriage can determine their financial security and future prospects. When a group of wealthy bachelors arrives in their neighbourhood, romantic possibilities begin to emerge, setting the stage for unexpected relationships and family tensions.

At the centre of the story is Elizabeth Bennet (Corrin), whose sharp wit and independent spirit bring her into conflict with the reserved and seemingly arrogant Mr. Darcy (Lowden). Despite their initial disagreements, the pair find themselves drawn into a complicated relationship that challenges their assumptions about each other.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s sister Jane (Freya Mavor) develops a connection with the charming Mr. Bingley (Daryl McCormack), while the Bennet family must contend with social pressures, romantic rivalries and scandals that threaten their prospects.

The newly released trailer showcases the series’ Regency-era setting, with lavish period costumes, picturesque English landscapes and grand country estates providing the backdrop for its tangled romantic relationships. It also offers glimpses of the lively Bennet household, highlighting the family dynamics and humour that have helped Austen’s novel remain a favourite across generations.

The cast also features Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet and Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, alongside Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet, Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet and Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet.

Bestselling author and screenwriter Dolly Alderton, known for Everything I Know About Love, has written the series, with Euros Lyn, whose credits include Heartstopper, directing.

Alderton’s adaptation aims to preserve the spirit of Austen’s original work while exploring the emotional complexities that continue to make the story resonate with modern audiences. Themes of family, friendship, social expectations and the possibility of misjudging those around us remain central to this new interpretation.

Corrin, Lowden, Alderton and Lyn also serve as executive producers, alongside Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter. Lisa Osborne serves as producer.

With a celebrated literary source, an acclaimed ensemble and a romance that has captivated audiences for generations, Pride and Prejudice is preparing to introduce Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy to another generation of viewers.

** Pride and Prejudice premieres December 3, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.**
