Ashley Kutcher’s debut album, “House on the Water,” is a 10-track release that is sure to leave you feeling nostalgic and introspective. The album’s title is a nod to Kutcher’s childhood memories of spending time with family and friends in their house on the water in Maryland. The album’s themes revolve around love, loss, and self-discovery, and Kutcher’s lyrics are both heartfelt and relatable. Kutcher spoke about the title of the record saying;

“Growing up in a house on the water in Maryland has always been a part of who I am. By the water is where we listen to music, swim, play games, and really just connect as people. I always knew in my older years that I wanted to end up with the love of my life in a little house on the bay just like my parents did.”

The album opens with “Boy From Carolina,” a catchy and upbeat track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song is about Kutcher’s first love, who was from North Carolina, and the memories they shared together. The next track, “Matchbox,” is a slower ballad that showcases Kutcher’s vocal range and emotional depth. The song is about the pain of losing someone you love and the struggle to move on.

Other standout tracks on the album include “Favorite Color,” a song about finding beauty in the mundane, and “Trustfall,” a hauntingly beautiful ballad about the vulnerability of falling in love. The album closes with “House on the Water,” a reflective and introspective track that ties the album’s themes together. My favorite song on the album is “Half Gone”.

Overall, “House on the Water” is a solid debut album from Ashley Kutcher, and proves once again why she’s my favourite artist. The album’s themes are relatable, and Kutcher’s lyrics are both heartfelt and introspective. The album’s production is top-notch, and Kutcher’s vocals are impressive throughout. If you’re a fan of pop music that is both catchy and introspective, then “House on the Water” is definitely worth a listen.
