Apple TV+ has unveiled a new teaser for Pluribus, an upcoming science fiction series from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad.
The show’s official description states: “Pluribus is a genre-blending original where the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” Rhea Seehorn, known for her role in Better Call Saul, stars as Carol Sturka, a successful author of historical romance novels. In the teaser, Carol sits in her car and notices a “Welcome Carol” sign on a billboard for the Westgate. She quickly drives away from the sign as the teaser concludes. The clip is captioned, “Enjoy your stay, Carol. (202) 808-3981.”
The narrative follows Carol as she encounters a bizarre event during a book tour across New Mexico: a virus that induces happiness and optimism in those it infects. Remarkably, Carol remains unaffected by this phenomenon.
Alongside Seehorn, the series features Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete), Carlos Manuel Vesga (The Hijacking of Flight 601), with guest appearances by Miriam Shor (American Fiction) and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death).
Gilligan serves as the creator and executive producer, working alongside Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy are credited as co-executive producers. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
Pluribus marks a reunion for Gilligan and Seehorn, who previously collaborated on Better Call Saul. In that series, Seehorn portrayed Kim Wexler, a lawyer and eventual wife of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), who later adopts the identity of Saul Goodman. Her performance earned her two Emmy nominations.
The show is set to premiere on Apple TV+ with the release of the first two episodes on Friday, November 7, 2025. Season 1 will comprise nine episodes, concluding with the finale on December 26. The series has already been renewed for a second season.
