Zara Larsson Releases New Album ‘MIDNIGHT SUN’

Although it’s the first week of fall, Zara Larsson’s summer vibes show no signs of fading. Today, the chart-topping global pop star releases her highly anticipated new album, Midnight Sun. You can listen to it now on all digital platforms via Sommer House / Epic Records.

Bold, honest, and unfiltered, the 10-track album radiates confidence and touches on personal themes through a vibrant blend of kaleidoscopic pop and euphoric dance sounds—perfectly matching Zara’s diverse moods. Drawing from nearly two decades of experience in the spotlight, Midnight Sun offers an intimate look at the 27-year-old artist: from lovestruck and wistful to ambitious, cocky, playful, and uncertain—all in one breath.

Today also marks the release of the exclusive Midnight Sun (Lisa Frank Edition) CD, a limited-edition collaboration with the legendary design brand Lisa Frank, Inc. This colorful package immerses fans in a dreamy aquatic world inspired by the memes and moments shared by Zara’s global fanbase over the past year. Grab yours before it’s gone, HERE.

As she approaches the final shows of her arena tour supporting Tate McCrae’s Miss Possessive, Zara is making waves across the U.S., with two nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum kicking off tonight. Following her successful run at Madison Square Garden, where Billboard praised her “almost certain” dominance in the U.S., Zara is set to headline her own Midnight Sun Tour starting in Europe this fall, with North American dates announced for February 2026. Check her full international schedule and get tickets HERE.

Her headline tour promises to deliver her most emotionally raw and electrifying performances yet, featuring songs crafted over the past year in collaboration with songwriter Helena Gao and producers MNEK, Margo XS, and Zhone.

Among the new tracks, Blue Moon stands out as an anthem for hopeless romantics, set against warm tones and heart-pumping drum ’n’ bass rhythms—a celebration of timeless love. Conversely, Hot & Sexy channels ’80s electro, ’90s house, Y2K pop, and 2010s bass music, sampling Tiffany Pollard’s iconic Big Brother rant. It’s a fiery “no boys allowed” anthem evolving into a hyperpop frenzy that explores autonomy and self-empowerment.

The album also dives into introspection with Saturn’s Return, where Zara reflects on personal growth and embracing uncertainty, and The Ambition, which examines the dual nature of drive and success pressures. These tracks highlight the album’s raw honesty about identity, expectations, and stepping into a new chapter of life.

Midnight Sun complements hit singles like “Crush,” which spent six weeks as one of the most-added songs at US Top 40 radio and is climbing the charts—currently in the Top 25 on Mediabase’s Pop chart and approaching the Top 10 on Dance Radio. The era kicked off with the energetic “Pretty Ugly,” whose music video, directed by Charlotte Rutherford and choreographed by Zoi Tatopoulos, was nominated for “Best Choreography” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

The title track, “Midnight Sun,” has gone viral this summer, thanks in part to its Y2K-inspired music video and Zara’s stunning vocal performance. The song has received acclaim from artists like PinkPantheress, Ariana Grande, and Renee Rapp. Critics have also praised it: Rolling Stone called it a “song-of-the-summer contender,” PAPER described it as a “shimmering pop anthem soaked in nostalgia,” and GRAMMY.com remarked that “the beat drops with hypnotic force.” Pitchfork summed up the sentiment perfectly: “Midnight Sun is simply too much my shit!”

In Zara’s words, Midnight Sun embodies her Scandinavian roots—her happiest and saddest memories, all wrapped into one. “It’s a part of my soul—like a Swedish summer night,” she explains.

As excitement builds, Zara Larsson’s endless summer of Midnight Sun is finally here—and it’s here to stay.

“Honestly, it just feels like me,” Zara smiles. “Knowing myself, this album is really, really me. And no one can do me quite like I do.”
