INsiders Guide: Blooming Fire, ZHANGYE, Girl Tones, GUPPY, Jennie Arnau…

Blooming Fire is a Los Angeles-based music collective led by sibling duo Sierra Madre and Ian Nagay. Crafting a bold and immersive fusion of organic pop, indie alt, soul-hop, and rock, their genre-defying sound blends soulful introspection, conscious hip-hop, and nature-inspired lyricism into a sonic blend that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Known for their transformational live performances and emotionally charged storytelling. Blooming Fire weaves analog textures from the past with digital production from today to explore powerful themes of coping with mental health struggles, healing, resilience, and humanity’s intrinsic connection to each other and the Earth.

China’s leading electronic music figure, ZHANGYE, has joined forces with GRAMMY-nominated international superstar DJ/Producer, Steve Aoki, and acclaimed American vocalist, Rosie Darling, to release the powerful new single, “Where Do We Go.” Distributed by Cyanhill Music, the track is now globally available, marking another profound intersection between the Chinese EDM scene and the international stage.

In crafting the track, the two maestros chose not to chase flashy, genre-stacking trends. Instead, they boldly looked back at the golden era of Future Bass. “Where Do We Go” opens with a classic Dance-Pop verse, which is both emotionally captivating and perfectly echoes the evolution from traditional North American Dance-Pop to modern EDM. A brief but intense build-up incorporates the texture of acoustic percussion, leading into the signature architecture of Future Bass, which unleashes the track’s full energy. The pulse of Wobble Chords intertwines with a Melodic Trap Lead, creating a rich and intricate sonic tapestry.

The raw power that once dominated the stages is re-released through the experience and emotion of ZHANGYE and Steve Aoki. The moment the melody hits, it’s a resonant echo of memory and an instant release for the present. The classic sound is timeless – it’s a statement of confidence: continuing to explore new possibilities based on pure, high-quality textures.

ZHANGYE and Steve Aoki were introduced by a mutual friend and hit it off immediately. At the start of the collaboration, the duo quickly forged a deep connection built on a shared vision for music and a common pursuit of high-octane energy. This formidable alliance, transcending geography and culture, ensures that “Where Do We Go” is destined to ignite dance floors with massive energy.

“Where Do We Go” – this is not just a thought-provoking question, but an exploration of the future and a guide to the limitless possibilities of music. ZHANGYE and Steve Aoki converge their power in this track, igniting an unknown journey with intense emotion and energy. Where is the next destination? Hit the play button and let the power to the classics drive your future journey.

Los Angeles indie rock group GUPPY returns today with “Back to the Thing,” a joyful new single about finding comfort in familiar loves, out now via Lauren Records.

With the release of new single, “Sail Away,” the Americana/folk artist, Jennie Arnau, launches the pre-save for her long-awaited comeback album, A Rising Tide, which drops on November 7, 2025. Arnau has also announced that the release celebration for A Rising Tide will take place on November 9, 2025, at NYC’s Berlin.

Arnau’s face lights up when talking about the new album, which fuses world-weary understanding with an overwhelming tenderness that pierces the heart. Her voice ricochets like a pebble on a pond as she processes frustration and impenetrable sadness over her mother’s death.

Punk/alt-rock firebrand Kit Major returns with her new single “Teenage Wannabe” on October 3rd via Futureless. A snarling, cinematic track brimming with horror-punk energy, it’s a tongue-in-cheek anthem of identity, chaos, and survival in a world that thrives on manufactured personas. The accompanying music video—directed by longtime collaborator Noël Dombroski—arrives on October 10th, bringing the camp and spectacle of B-horror and sci-fi films to vivid life.

The wait is over for Don’t Care. Didn’t Ask. the highly anticipated new album from feminist punk powerhouse Cheap Perfume. ‘Don’t Care. Didn’t Ask.’ is an uninhibited call to anti-capitalist revolution presented as a collection of punk rock protest songs, breakup songs and party songs,” shares vocalist/guitarist Jane No. “It stays true to Cheap Perfume’s signature angry-yet-melodic sound while railing against systems of oppression and America’s descent into fascism.”
