Sean Baker is set to release a new film titled “Ti Amo!” next year, with Warner Bros. launching it under their newly established specialized label, now named Clockwork. This marks the first title under the label.
Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy announced the news during Warner Bros.’s CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday, April 14. Although no additional details were shared at that time, they confirmed the film will premiere in 2027. Warner Bros. plans to release a total of 18 movies as part of its upcoming slate.
Baker will be deeply involved in “Ti Amo!” as writer, director, editor, cast member, and producer. He is teaming up with “Anora” producers Alex Coco and Samantha Quan. The project is being produced by their companies, Cre Film and Rapt Film, and financed by FilmNation Entertainment. This film follows Baker’s acclaimed Best Picture-winning “Anora,” representing a bold new direction for the studio’s new label, Clockwork, which is led by Christian Parkes. Clockwork aims to produce “socially relevant, provocative, and culturally resonant cinema for global audiences,” according to a statement.
Christian Parkes expressed enthusiasm, saying, “Sean Baker is an artist who embodies everything we believe in at Clockwork, and ‘TI AMO!’ will be another gift to Cinema. Plus, his poster game is on point.”
The deal was negotiated by Warner Bros. executives Jason Wald, Head of Production & Acquisition for Clockwork, and Erik Elner, EVP of Business Affairs, along with attorney Jamie Feldman representing the filmmakers and Laine Kline representing FilmNation. Baker’s previous film, “Anora,” made Oscar history by winning four Academy Awards for Best Director, Best Writer, Best Editing, and Best Picture, and grossed $57.3 million worldwide.
Warner Bros. introduced the Sean Baker project at CinemaCon following successes like “One Battle After Another,” which won Best Picture, and “Sinners,” which received the most Oscar nominations in history. The studio also showcased first looks at upcoming films including “The End of Oak Street,” “Digger,” “Supergirl,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “Mortal Kombat II,” “The Great Beyond,” and “Dune: Part III.”
