Highland Park Collective is a group made of a group of men that have been writing, producing and creating content for brands small and large for years. When former Boys Like Girls bassist/vocalist Morgan Dorr’s childhood friend Kevin McHugh moved to Los Angeles to complete his masters in design, the idea for a something bigger than a band emerged. Kevin joined Morgan, Ethan, and Jamel to form Highland Park Collective.
Now the band release their brand new single entitled ‘Feel Like You Do’, which is the perfect blend of both alternative rock and indie pop. The single is bursting with energy and has potential to burst onto the charts.
Indie rock singer/songwriter Velvet Starlings has just released his holiday anthem called ‘It’s Christmas Time (A Winter Paradise)’. It’s almost got a 60’s feel to it, reminiscent of the sounds of Phil Collins, an artist I am very fond of. We’ve featured Velvet Starlings (aka Christian Gisborne) before, and this rising artist is only getting bigger and better as time goes.
C. SHIROCK is Chuck Shirock – founder, frontman and primary writer for internationally acclaimed band, SHIROCK. The new music from C. SHIROCK is an evolution and a distillation of his previous work, cutting to the core of his identity, with a power and clarity not heard before. Blending anthemic choruses, musical builds and releases with heartfelt and personal lyrics, the new music from C. SHIROCK delivers a vulnerability, urgency and an aching vocal that is uniquely his own. Driving rhythms and bass are anchors to the soaring melodies, layers of keyboards, and programming that call to mind the emotive, intelligent pop music of artists such as Peter Gabriel and David Bowie.
“Stand With Me Tonight” is the latest single from C. SHIROCK, which is a love song and the video tells the story of a teenage romance between two high school students. The video is courtesy of director John Matysiak. You’ve no doubt seen his work before in Kings of Leon’s “Walls,” Leon Bridges’ “Beyond” and Jordan Davis’ “Single You Up.” Watch the video, and you won’t be surprised to learn that the school Matysiak shot in and around is called Mount Pleasant High School.
Justin Salter takes us to the beach in his new music video “You and Me.” The Los Angeles based instrumentalist got his start as the drummer for Scary Kids Scaring Kids in 2005, and grew his talents from there. He’s served as engineer on records for iconic artists like Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, and Aaliyah, as well as producer credits for Jackie Lopez & Sksk/Immortal Records.
Now Justin Salter is going to capture the attention of the music world yet again on his brand new song, that’s inspired by real events. “You and Me” begins with a quirky Uber driver playing a track for one of his beautiful passengers. Suddenly, the video morphs into a romantic day on the beach in picturesque Santa Monica, California. Such a great story of a buzzing love affair. If you haven’t checked out Justin Salter before you’re not going to miss this. “You and Me” is out now.
