Pioneer of the “Universal” genre, artist Stephen Thomas unveils a bold and emotionally raw new single, “Strange Love,” a track that captures the bittersweet complexities of today’s relationship culture. Crossing over into the pop genre while blending elements of alternative R&B, and dance, “Strange Love” – from his upcoming EP, The Universal Me – is as infectious as it is reflective—delving into the messy in-between spaces of hookups, blurred boundaries, and half-hearted commitments.

It’s an unrelenting, raw track fueled by the band’s sheer power and dynamic musicianship—standing as one of the heaviest songs they have ever released. Fans can expect heightened intensity from the band as they usher in a powerful new era of music.
Frontman Eric Vanlerberghe shared his thoughts on the track below:
“Aggressive, fast, and heavy. All packed into 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Turn it up and put your head through the fucking wall.”
I Prevail is no stranger to pushing boundaries. This group has found great success with previous records over the past decade including their first album Lifelines that achieved gold status in both the US and Canada. 2019’s TRAUMA repeated that accomplishment in Canada just a few years later and was nominated for Best Rock Album at that year’s Grammys, with their single “Bow Down” also a contender for Best Metal Performance. 2022’s TRUE POWER saw the band continue to forge their own musical path, refusing to conform to the expectations of the genre, and instead demonstrating just how much of a tour de force I Prevail’s music is.
Now the band embarks on a new chapter with the release of “Violent Nature,” a song born from battling their personal demons and the turmoil brewing beneath the surface. They are on a mission to redefine heavy music on their own terms and remind the world why they are one of the most vital forces in modern metal.

Cupid, also known as The Line Dance King, has shared the new version of “The Cookout” with Bun B and Paul Wall, available now on all DSPs via TOC MUSIC and SPARTA Distribution. Breathing new life into the original version, the trio encourage listeners to pour themselves a glass and head to the dance floor. Blending Cupid’s infectious energy with two new verses from Southern rap legends, the star-studded edition was produced by Rodnae (Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Birdman) and Mr. Phat (T-Pop, Vicious, Tina P.), adding a layer of Houston heat to the single.

Just one week out from their highly anticipated album JRSY FRSH, South Jersey’s pop punk trailblazers FRND CRCL are back with a surprise single: “Shut Up”—a sharp-tongued summer anthem that channels the sting of broken bonds into something refreshingly loud and honest.

Tyler Ivey charges into the alternative metal scene with his debut solo single “REBIRTH”, a raw, primal anthem accompanied by a hauntingly dark music video. The track marks a pivotal moment for the Pennsylvania-born, NYC-bred, and now Austin-based vocalist—a fiery declaration of self-transformation and a melding of every influence that has shaped his eclectic creative journey.
Tyler’s path to “REBIRTH” has been one of constant evolution. Growing up in Pennsylvania, he was captivated by the theatrical shock-rock of Alice Cooper and the industrial intensity of Nine Inch Nails, influences that would later define his own artistry. But it wasn’t until he moved to New York City in 2018 that he truly found his voice in the underground music scene. Known for his electrifying stage presence, Tyler’s performances are a whirlwind of passion and theatricality, commanding attention with every note and movement.
“Performing has always been my way of connecting,” Tyler shares. “On stage, I can let go of everything and just be— raw, real, and unfiltered. That’s what ‘REBIRTH’ is about: shedding the parts of yourself that hold you back and stepping into who you’re meant to be.”

He continues: “The whole idea was to bring Chroma into a modern place sonically and reconcile the live versions of these songs with what is on record. Our hope is that current fans will rock out harder and that new fans will be able to discover these songs in a modern context.”

San Diego rock band benches release their new EP Kill The Lights. From the project’s inception, the band knew they wanted to use this moment to sonically stretch out; an exercise in surprising not only their audience, but surprising themselves. Across six songs, the four-piece dredge up some of the darker sides of mental health that are typically left buried. Confronting themes of deep fears, overthinking, isolation and detachment, Kill The Lights is constantly searching for a source of illumination. Whether or not it truly finds it, there is a thread of hope that runs throughout — Stream.
Opening with the short, swelling instrumental “Departure,” the band shares that they wanted to set the tone of the EP by introducing production elements that represent themes and feelings that arise throughout the project. It is mysterious, haunting, and leaves the listener full of anticipation.
As things kick into a higher gear on track 2 “Naive,” the sense of dark moodiness is preserved. “‘Naive’ was one of the first pieces of music we wrote all together, and you can feel it in the recording,” says vocalist Anson Kelley. “It feels live, like we are in the room. It came together very naturally within one day, and helped set the tone for what this EP would eventually become.”
Moving through the middle of the EP, benches tosses and turns over a sense of distrust and dread, the unending loop of striving for perfection. On “Orchid” in particular, Kelley describes the song as, “First it was undercooked, then it was overcooked, then after a long time, it landed in a sweet spot between the two. The lyrics get caught in a time loop. You keep trying to find an answer that’s different from the one that’s always been there, right in front of you. In the search for perfection, you will almost always end up lost.”

Austin-based alternative rock musician Bee Blackwell continues to preview her new EP Nine Lives, arriving June 20, 2025. Written, self-produced and then recorded at the famed Sonic Ranch studio in three days during a sabbatical, Nine Lives is an inspiring indie rock-tinged tale of surviving through chaos and coming out of it better than ever. Today, she shares “Claws,” which features her signature brooding and gritty but fuzzed-out guitar work paired with emotionally charged vocals. An official music video for the track also premieres today, paying homage to a 1993 live performance from shoegaze icons Swirlies.
“CLAWS” is the struggle of being caught between wanting connection and fearing vulnerability,” Bee explains. “Expressing emotion is hard, being a control freak is even harder.”

Australia’s most aesthetically and sonically striking queer artists have come together to reveal new single King Queen Supreme set for release on 22nd May 2025. Produced by Dyan Tai, a Triple J alumni and Unfinished Flume Top 5 Finalist (2023), and Lupa J, an Unearthed High Finalist (2014, 2015), King Queen Supreme is a meticulously crafted track that blends bubblegum bass, PC music, and cantopop influences. The song’s high-energy production is elevated by Tai’s signature use of traditional East Asian instruments, such as the Guzheng and Chinese operatic cymbals, alongside Lupa J’s live violin and dramatic Taiko drum hits. This collaboration is a bold celebration of genderfluid and gender non-conforming identities, while also serving as a powerful response to the global backlash against trans and gender-diverse communities. The single is accompanied by an avant-garde music video filmed at Wanda Sand Dunes, directed by Audley Anderson and shot by Byron Martin. Featuring a 100% LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC cast dressed as genderless clowns in a dystopian desert, the visuals are as striking as the song itself.
