ZAYN Drops New Single “Sideways” and Announces Forthcoming Album KONNAKOL

Multi-platinum artist, songwriter, producer, and philanthropist ZAYN has released his latest single, “Sideways,” an atmospheric blend of pop and R&B that highlights his signature breathy falsetto. Accompanying the song is an official visualizer featuring ZAYN, which fans can watch [HERE].

This track is the newest preview of his upcoming fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, set to be released on April 17, 2026, via Mercury Records. Fans can pre-order the album. “Sideways” follows the release of the album’s lead single, “Die For Me,” which debuted last month and sparked excitement among fans and critics alike, marking ZAYN’s highly anticipated return to his pop R&B roots.

KONNAKOL is ZAYN’s most culturally inspired project to date. The album builds on the sound introduced in his debut, Mind of Mine, which broke records and established his signature style. Co-produced by ZAYN and Malay (known for working with Frank Ocean and Lorde), the project explores deeper cultural themes, exemplified by the album cover featuring the snow leopard—a powerful symbol in South Asia—highlighting his heritage’s influence on the record.

ZAYN is also gearing up for his largest solo tour to date, The KONNAKOL Tour, which begins on May 12, 2026, in Manchester, UK. The tour will make stops in major cities including London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, São Paulo, and more, ultimately concluding on November 20 in Miami, FL, at the Kaseya Center. Earlier this year, ZAYN completed his first-ever Las Vegas residency, where he debuted and teased unreleased material from KONNAKOL. Critics like Variety praised his performance, noting his “pristine vocals, signature falsetto, and a noticeably stronger stage presence.”

This album follows the success of his 2024 critically acclaimed project, Room Under the Stairs, which led to his first solo tour across the U.S., UK, and Mexico. Recently, ZAYN collaborated with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo on “Eyes Closed,” which earned a 2026 iHeartRadio Music Award nomination for Favorite K-Pop Collaboration. The track made a significant impact globally, debuting at #10 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart with 43.9 million streams in its first week, and reaching #72 on the US Hot 100, #21 on Spotify Global, and topping iTunes charts in over 40 countries.
