Cautious Clay – “Cold War”: Joshua Karpeh, is a singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known as Cautious Clay, and he has a single and video you need to get on your radar called “Cold War.” The visual, co-directed by Alex Gallitano and Cautious Clay, is a meditation on human interaction in the age of dating apps and social media. The self produced “Cold War” appears on Cautious Clay’s new Blood Type EP, which dropped in February. Karpeh recently told Billboard that “Cold War” is “about commitment and also the frustration of lack of commitment.” He also called Blood Type his “magnum opus.”

Joyner Lucas – “Isis” (feat. Logic): Joyner Lucas and Logic decided to put their differences aside and bury the hatchet to get back to working together. Joyner called a truce to reunite with Bobby and officially squash their beef that had been brewing since 2016, there brand new track is called “ISIS” and is taken from Lucas “ADHD” album. The Massachussetts rapper serves as a soldier on an army base for the duration of the clip, as he and Logic exchange scintilating bars on the front lines in uniform.

One Chance – “You’re My”: One Chance, is an R&B group of Chicago composed of brothers Jon Gordon (co-founder) and Michael “Mic” Gordon (co-founder) p/k/a The Gordon Brothers, Rob Brent (member), and Courtney Vantrease (member), who signed to J Records after being discovered by Grammy-Award-Winning artist Usher. Usher discovered One Chance during a live showcase, and immediately organized a meeting for the boy band to perform for music legend, Clive Davis, Founder of J Records; who signed them on the spot. The group ended ultimately in 2011 when Rob Brent and Courtney Vantrease amicably parted to pursue solo careers. “You’re My” would be one of the main reasons I loved these guys.

Deepside (aka Git Fresh) – “Lovely”: Another failed boyband, Deepside also went through some name changes before splitting. Deepside was an American R&B and hip hop group based in Miami, Florida. They are now known as Git Fresh and are currently signed to Island Def Jam. The group was initially composed of Rude Boi, Pretti Sly, Penny, & Mike Ezay. When they we’re a foursome they we’re great. The group changed their name from Deep Side to Git Fresh. They also have changed record labels from Jive Records to Def Jam. Unfortunately, the singers, Brent “Penny” Pendergast & Mike “Ezay” Espinosa, have reportedly left the group. As of 2012, It is uncertain if the 2 remaining members will continue as a group. This was a song that made me love them.

Grace Carter – “Wicked Game”: Brighton singer/songwriter Grace Carter has shared a heart-wrenching version of Chris Isaak’s 1989 hit single “Wicked Game”. The rising star is also confirmed to perform at this summer’s Made in America Festival. “Wicked Game” became a hit after it was featured in David Lynch’s Wild at Heart movie in 1990. In the 30 years since its release, it has had the re-work and remix treatment from a huge amount of artists across multiple genres. I have to say this version might just be the best. Grace’s soulful voice is impeccable.
