Rite Field Records has signed Denton, Texas band A Brief Memoir for the release of their forthcoming self-titled album. The record follows several years of self-released music, including a 2022 demo, the 2023 single “Night Night,” the EP Ode to Raul, and Two Songs from 2026. It is the band’s first release with the label.
For A Brief Memoir, the album comes after uneven but necessary years. The band described its early period as inconsistent, with shifting lineups, fill-in members, long gaps between activity, and shows that did not always reflect the group at its best. The new record comes from a steadier version of the band: a consistent lineup, regular writing, and a clearer sense of what should stay in the songs.
That change is audible in the music. A Brief Memoir returned to the basic parts of its sound: soft and loud dynamics, classic emo chords and tunings, chiming guitars, and a loose playing style. At the same time, the band began moving away from screamo as the main frame for the songs. The result is not a cleaner version of the band but a more honest one. The rougher parts remain, but they are no longer the only thing holding the music together.
The self-titled album is written around absence, memory, care, and accepting what cannot be changed. The songs touch on distance, grief, old friendships, old homes, love, and gratitude. They come from specific situations but do not feel sealed off from the listener. The record gives those experiences enough room to be understood beyond the band’s own lives.
A Brief Memoir also includes members active in other Texas emo and slowcore projects, placing the band within a Denton and North Texas scene where emo, post-hardcore, and indie rock often overlap in practice. That context helps explain the band’s background, but the self-titled album makes its own case.

Brooklyn-based artist Rachel Bochner has built a reputation for sharp, emotionally charged indie-pop that cuts straight to the core. Since her debut, she’s carved out a space defined by candid lyricism and an unflinching willingness to explore the messier edges of love, identity, and self-discovery. Now, with her latest single “Happier You’re Gone (SASE)”, she enters a new chapter, one that feels both deeply personal and transformative.
At its heart, “Happier You’re Gone (SASE)” is a reckoning. Written from a place of distance and hard-won clarity, the track reframes the aftermath of heartbreak into something more introspective, and ultimately liberating. What initially reads like a breakup song reveals itself to be something more nuanced: a confrontation with the past self who stayed too long, ignored too much, or simply didn’t yet know better. For Bochner, the meaning stretches across multiple interpretations, whether that’s a past lover or a more complicated, internal goodbye, but ultimately lands as a letter of good riddance. “A post-breakup note, or a ‘see-you-never!’ to a formerly destructive self,” she explains. After finishing the song, she added “SASE” (self addressed stamped envelope) to the title as a final, knowing detail, a small piece of context for those paying closer attention.

Chart-topping children’s recording and performing artist Doctor Noize is many things: Stanford Music grad, Master of Recording Arts, entrepreneur, teacher, author, speaker, app creator, studio owner, community builder, lifelong learner, and philosopher-poet-goofball, which BTW is like totally a thing. From the moment music saved his soul when most of his family died in one year as a kid, he knew he’d give back with what saved him.
With chart hits in three decades, the Doc’s catalog of recordings is a unique combination of exuberant joy, high-quality production, revered collaborators, and narrative musical structure. Each album is an adventure balancing inspirational learning with positive storytelling and songwriting all ages can explore. His work teaches instruments, music fundamentals, language, leadership, sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion — all through the eyes of characters so engaging you won’t even know you’re learning.
Known for his virtuosic one-man-band shows nationwide, The Doc sings and plays a host of instruments, which he uses to loop record and even write songs with audiences on the spot. His diverse performances range in size and scope from acoustic shows and book readings to groundbreaking symphony performances of his acclaimed work Phineas McBoof Crashes the Symphonyintroducing newcomers to the wide world of orchestral music.
Doctor Noize’s innovative Workshops and teaching, developed through his Master’s Thesis on Recording Arts Education, draw on his lifetime of learning and leadership experience. As a team and community builder he’s been an award-winning high school Arts Department Head; full-time university Director of Recording Arts and Professor; elected to the Boards of the Recording Academy, Children’s Music Network, Stanford Alumni in Sustainability Climate Action Forum, and Christian Youth Theater (as an agnostic!); and won a Stanford STARS Award for his volunteer service leading a campaign securing the largest Stanford Reunion attendance ever. He runs Stanford’s acclaimed summer Recording Arts program and is Chair of the Pikes Peak State College Recording Arts Technology Program Advisory Board.
The Doc’s alter ego Cory Cullinan is a renowned songwriter, recording and performing artist for adults; commissioned composer for stage, screen and symphony; sought-out producer; avant-garde electronic musician; owner of multimedia production house Reach Studios; and writer of the Noizeletter. But his #1 gig is husband and father to three action/adventure superwomen who fuel him with inspiration and purpose. His wife Janette is a trailblazer as a blind corporate leader and Executive Coach; daughter Sidney Grace is a multimedia writer, director, producer and Silver Scholar at Yale School of Management; and daughter Riley Max is a recording, performing and visual artist and Harvard undergrad.
Doctor Noize releases his sustainability single and video “Funk The Planet” from his upcoming retrospective album Positive Energy! (The Music of Doctor Noize) on On World Environment Day (6/5). It’s also special as the final song to be released by the Doc’s all-star side gig, Konshens & The Earth Band, featuring rapper poet Konshens The MC from DC (son of hip-hop pioneer Master Gee of The Sugarhill Gang), multi-Grammy winner and UN Goodwill Ambassador Ricky Kej from India, and multi-Grammy-winning producer extraordinaire Lonnie Park from New York. “Funk The Planet” blends heart and humor, hip hop and pop, and natural joy with a call to action. Music by Doctor Noize; lyrics by Doctor Noize, Konshens The MC & Lonnie Park; percussion, mixing and mastering by Lonnie Park; and production by Ricky Kej, Lonnie Park & Doctor Noize. The video, blending live action and animation, is once again the creation of Doctor Noize’s daughter Sidney Cullinan of the Yale School of Management, who has scripted and directed music videos for Grammy winners and avant-garde works alike with equal skill and dedication to the artists’ vision.
Drawing on his open-minded approach, Doctor Noize and his main monkey Phineas McBoof continue their journey to learn and teach about creativity, curiosity, character and community through music, art and words.
Between their innovative arrangements, instrument swapping, scope of emotions and experiences conveyed in their songwriting, and an eclectic group of old friends and collaborators, NYC-based trio Bandits on the Run are truly living up to what they call their “ethos of artmaking” on their new album, ‘ROUGH MAGIC’.
“With a reverence for imperfection, grit, commitment, an acceptance that chaos is inevitable, and a deep gratitude for the friendships that are truly the foundation for everything — ‘Rough Magic,’ like love, is both a noun and a verb. It’s the goal and the method. It’s the god we’re evoking and welcoming into the room with each song we write and each show we play. At our core, we’re NYC buskers. We’re throwing our jackets on the ground and playing troubadour style — timeless and evergreen. We know the alchemy at play when you dare to believe that an empty section of a subway platform full of strangers can turn into a concert hall with new friends. None of this is perfect, or requires permission, it only asks that you dare your heart to be seen — even with all the rough edges. Because it’s rough, it’s magic,” the band says.

Fresh off the release of their new five-song EP Blue Fairy, a spring run of packed shows supporting Panchiko, and the continued growth of their explosive breakout track “Hello Juliet,”Clarion aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Tonight they play a sold out hometown headline show at The Paramount in Los Angeles before spending the rest of their week in Mesa, AZ for two more packed-out gigs.
Today, Clarion also shares a new song called “JILT” that captures the aftermath of abruptly leaving a relationship behind. Through waves of distortion, the band reframes guilt while still maintaining their own sort of melodic tension that keeps listeners guessing.

Love Like Enemies returns with their latest track, “Viper (Playing With Fire),” a hard-hitting song radiating hopefulness and genuineness delivered through guttural and vigorous vocals. Written as a tribute to the fans who have supported their journey, the song inspires listeners to chase their dreams unabashedly and push through self-doubt, while simultaneously opening up the pit.

New Jersey based singer, songwriter, and producer Baker Grace returns with ‘Angel’, a luminous new single that explores the uneasy space between longing and self-protection. Built around intimate songwriting, understated production, and Grace’s haunting vocal delivery, the track captures the feeling of wanting to trust someone while questioning whether love is ever as certain as it first appears.

BUJA (BR) today makes his main label debut with his new single ‘Hysteria’ out now via Dirtybird.
‘Hysteria’ leans into the off-kilter tenacity that’s become synonymous with Dirtybird’s curation. Designed for peak-time club pressure, the track throws a leftfield curve with ringing melodies, punchy low-ends, and syncopated rhythms that lock into a restless groove. An unruly cut that will keep any crowd in constant motion, ‘Hysteria’ captures BUJA’s natural instincts for dancefloor chaos while marking a bold introduction to the main label.
“‘Hysteria’ is a peak-time tech house weapon with driving basslines and hypnotic vocals tailored for the club.” – BUJA

London-based artist Poesie returns with her poignant new single ‘Curious Eve’, a bold and theatrical track that blends indie rock with narrative-driven vocals. Built around crunchy guitar riffs, driving drums and surprising organ textures, the track signals a clear step forward in both sound and ambition.

Live electronic duo Double Touch today are back on All Day I Dream with their newest three-track Dreaming Of YouEP, out now.
On Dreaming Of You, Double Touch lean deeper into the melodic house sensibilities that have become central to their sound. Each track moves with a sense of intimacy and yearning, crafting an experience that feels as emotive as it is transportive.
The EP opens with its title track, ‘Dreaming Of You’, a hypnotic cut that balances darker, textured arrangement with soulful vocalwork. ‘Deep Sleep’ offers a more playful and upbeat turn, set against a blend of edgy yet earthy synths. ‘Feel The Love’ closes the project with a mellifluous cacophony that carries the progressive tonal themes that define the trio of tracks. Together, the release captures Double Touch’s ability to channel motion, memory, and emotional connection into immersive dancefloor storytelling.

Devon-born artist and producer Austel (Annie Rew Shaw) shares her exquisite second record ‘Mirror To Mine’. The ten track body of work sees Austel dig deep, seeking answers and courageously excavating long-lost memories.
The album is a self-produced accomplishment, released independently and mixed by the brilliant Grace Banks (English Teacher, Squid, Haim).
