The Final Destination franchise is set to continue with a seventh installment, following the success of Final Destination: Bloodlines. According to a recent report from THR, Warner Bros. is moving forward with the project, with Lori Evans Taylor confirmed as the writer for the new film. Taylor previously co-wrote Bloodlines, which was released in May and grossed over $286 million worldwide.
Bloodlines not only achieved commercial success but also received critical acclaim, making it the highest-rated film in the series. It currently holds a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, significantly surpassing the franchise’s second-best film, Final Destination 5.
It remains to be seen whether directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, who helmed Bloodlines, will return for the next chapter. The duo expressed strong enthusiasm for the series when they took on the directing role, and their passion was widely praised by fans and critics alike.
The sixth film featured cast members Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt, Bex Bessinger, and the late Tony Todd. The official plot summary reads: “Haunted by a recurring nightmare filled with violence, college student Stefanie returns home to find the one person who might be able to break the cycle and prevent her family from meeting a grisly fate.”
